Really ugly effort tonight. Only bright spot was scoreless effort from bullpen. Horrible hitting, horrible start by Brown - looks like his last outing was a fluke.

Brown wasn’t great, but his defense left much to be desired too. Good have been out of the second with no runs given up.
Agreed - Dawson didn't perform like we needed him to, but he didn't get support. Defense was full of errors, and we didn't score until the 9th.

I'm just glad he held on as long as he did. The last thing we needed was a loss AND and exhausted bullpen.

I might have been inclined to save Vaughan and go ahead and throw Schmolke and Byers in there, along with Samol.

Got beat by superb pitching.

UGA’s starting pitcher Woods (2-0) tossed six scoreless innings while allowing just three hits. He had eight strikeouts. Over his last two starts, Woods has pitched 10 2/3 scoreless innings with 19 strikeouts.

And our starting pitcher against Woods? Uhhhhhhh …

Need to find a quality starting pitcher rotation, and fast.

I guess that a 50-0 is now out of the cards, let’s move on and win today.

Yup, good thing about baseball is the next game is usually pretty soon.

Flush. We'll need to since uGag is throwing their best starter (in this young season) today. Staff day for us probably.

I only watched the first two last night. When DeLeo fell going around third on what would have been a score, it was clear that the karma wasn't with us then. But it's a new day. (Great day today already, rain stopped, cleaned out part of attic, went to dump, got mulch and noticed that The Sun Also Rises).

It's baseball anything can happen but I'd give us a 35% chance to win. Warren Nolan not knowing pitching situation gives uGag 54%.

And here is some important life advice to focus on if the game goes south:

Are they talking about foot speed, or mental acuity? Asking for a friend...

Losing 75% of our starting infield certainly doesn't help. We definitely need Jackson and Compton to get better soon. The other night they said Compton took batting practice so that is good news. Big question is going to be what happens when Campbell gets back. Romano has looked too good to take out of the lineup and we can't put him at DH and lose Finley's bat unless he plays first and we take Geisler out of the lineup, put either Compton or Romano at third and the other does the DH thing. Either that or Romano stays at 2nd and Campbell sits but I'm not sure that's a good idea. After sitting out last year he needs to play.
