Plumlee named starting Qb.
He came from Ole Miss.

Wonder if he left because of Dart coming or reverse?

Supposed to be fast.
He was switched to WR at ole miss since he wasn’t good at QB. Didn’t have a spot to play QB at ole miss so that’s why he transferred. He got the starting job since he’s a good runner which the malzahn offense requires. UCF’s starting QB from last year was 5-1 but had -36 rushing yards which doesn’t fit what gus bus wants to do at all.

to play devils advocate ole miss did have a good qb that was a third round pick so it’s not like he lost our to a JAG.

malzahn also had the magical 2013 season that was (with the help of a hilarious tipped ball against uga and crazy kick return vs bama) lead by nick marshall who was a db he converted to play qb. if anyone could figure out how to get something out of a runner it would be malzahn

This is correct. Plumlee may be the fastest player on UCF's team. He is a good fit for Malzahn's scheme like Marshall. This may be a tough match up for us

Re: Plumlee

He's dangerous on the ground, no doubt. Interested to see if GT can find a way to make them one dimensional and contain him. DE's need to be on their game keeping contain on the outside. And hopefully someone like Charlie Thomas can act as a QB spy and bottle him up somewhat.

As for throwing, he's made 8 total attempts over the last 2 years. And in 2019 he had 150 attempts, but still ran more. Comp percentage 52%.

Will be interesting to see

i’m worried about off schedule runs the most. we have done a pretty good job stopping designed qb runs but we have some awful history with gap discipline and pursuit angles on qbs. feel like the last decade we’ve been getting killed by qbs outrunning sacks
