You know here is a thought. Maybe we go get Omarion Hampton from UNC, he's a junior and he might not be heading to the nfl after this season but with mac getting fired he might be looking for a change. Need to pull an ole miss and have a non affiliated person reach out lol
Surely Omarion declares after this year. Never a reason for a high end back to stay another year. Too much wear and tear.

We will need an influx of talent to keep a top 25 level.

1 WR (big body/physical type)
1 TE (blocking type)
An OL or two for depth

1 Edge rusher similar to Height
2 defensive linemen ends/tackles
2 LBs
1 CB
1 Safety

Most important will be defensive playmakers at Edge and LB.

Thats a hard call on King.
You want him back but you also want Philo to get his chance.
I know one thing, if he doesn’t find an NFL opportunity or a big time job; Tech should bring him on staff.
If he has no interest in coaching, keep him around long enough for him to personally model for his statue for the stadium 😁

Does Haynes King come back? He isn't a NFL QB, so does he begin life or play college one more year?
He's making $500k+ in NIL money so, yeah, he comes back...or portals somewhere who'll pay him $2mil for a year......maybe ND or Auburn pays Philo $2mil....... who the Hell knows anymore? We are paying $500k+ for the HS QB from Oklahoma......$750k for the 5* OT from Roswell (or where ever)......NIL has CFB all FU.....

Basically we need to take any decent front 7 guy that can play. If we can get a Height type guy, all the better.
We could take good players anywhere else. Can’t ever have too much talent, but those are our holes next year. Linebacker with Efford back and Lightsey and Boyd starting to get healthy and into the rotation, I feel better there than last year, but as this year injury report shows, you need depth

Go look at my list from last year and we are in a much better place. We are going to miss Zeke and Yondo and Height. I expect Harris to take a step up in his senior season, but we need either young guns to step up or to hit the portal.

I think we are in a really good spot at all of the offensive skill positions. If Seither comes back healthy we will have a hell of a TE room.

If Haynes King is healthy and delivers like he did last night, there ain’t a whole lotta guys in the country who are better, if any. There’s just not. If Philo is smart, he sticks around and learns all he can under King for another year, then takes the keys to the Wreck for 2026. Hopefully we have Buster for at least one more year. How old is Busters son? He’s in school at Prince Ave. I think our biggest threat of losing him would be Kirby calling (but they can get anyone(but why get bobo))…or a head job at a G5 school.

I really wonder about this...I think the team has good chemistry...BUT when someone calls with a big bag...teams that need one specific piece are willing to pay
Players will do what they and their families/advisors think is best for the player most of the time.

Receiver is my only real wish on offense (obviously I’d like to improve everywhere but I think we’ve got the pieces like you said). We could use a stud. I know we have some great guys but they fit the same mold. A stud WR for King/Philo to play with next year could make us o so dangerous

If Haynes King returns he’s a preseason frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy.

Why is NIL disgusting? Did you really like the old system better when 10 teams were paying NIL and everyone else was put on probation?

All of you against NIL obviously don’t realize that we have been losing to teams who were paying players for decades. And that’s what you want back? I’d much rather watch a sport where both teams play by the same rules. We finally have that. And we are about to sign our best class in a long time. A total correlation because these players we can now pay would have ended up at Clemson, UGA, or Auburn for a few hundred grand in under the table money instead of GT with over the table money. How you guys can’t see that is beyond me.
