Has there been a more soul-crushing stretch of Tech football than the last three games of 2006?
maybe not but go check 1960

'64 was worse than '61. 7-0 going into the last 3 games, and we lost all 3, Tenn, Bama, and Georgia. All close games too.maybe not but go check 1960
Maybe I'm just crazy, but I would rather beat ugag than win the ACC. Idk, maybe I'm just sick of being blown out the past 3 years.1998 Team

I feel that. It’s hard for me to fully appreciate a season after losing to Georgia. Especially after losing the bowl game. Don’t get me wrong, beating Clemson twice and winning the ACC is a great year, but thinking about that Georgia loss really takes a lot of the magic out of 2009 for me. There have been so many opportunities in this modern era to make the series more respectable, and so many of them were blown.Maybe I'm just crazy, but I would rather beat ugag than win the ACC. Idk, maybe I'm just sick of being blown out the past 3 years.
Gailey’s program was very good at talent development. We had a lot of 3* recruits that developed into NFL draft picks
Not for me!!! It was really rough time.. I still have no answers why!!Has there been a more soul-crushing stretch of Tech football than the last three games of 2006?

The best Georgia Tech head football coach of this era in my opinion was Bobby Ross.

We had a helluva defense under Carson though, which is why the powers that be wanted him as HC when Dodd retired, even though he didn't want him.Yep, I was THERE at all.Disappointing but really not surprising. We weren't "that" good. --but I thought I had suppressed the memories. lol
1948 was similar Georgia Tech started the season 6-0 and ranked #6 and lost 3 out of 4 games to Tennessee,Alabama and UGAG finishing 1948 with a 7-3 record.Yep, I was THERE at all.Disappointing but really not surprising. We weren't "that" good. --but I thought I had suppressed the memories. lol
I think the fact that GT lost the last three games by 3 pts (UGS, ACCCG, Bowl Games) might be worse than 64,61, 0r 48.... As it truly was soul crushing and CGC was gone shortly after 06...1948 was similar Georgia Tech started the season 6-0 and ranked #6 and lost 3 out of 4 games to Tennessee,Alabama and UGAG finishing 1948 with a 7-3 record.
The defense was loaded2006 team had the most talent of any of those teams. Should’ve been special
So much for the "Defense Wins Championships!" mantraThe defense was loaded
I can't speak to the 64,61, 0r 48 games but the 2006 season made me despise Gailey and Nix. Our defense played lights out but stayed on the field forever due to an anemic offense.I think the fact that GT lost the last three games by 3 pts (UGS, ACCCG, Bowl Games) might be worse than 64,61, 0r 48.... I still get flashbacks to the Personal Foul in that opening game against ND. That game was one of the loudest I've ever heard Bobby Dodd. The defense was loaded
