I'm guessing it would be the second biggest point spread upset for Tech since 1981 in Birmingham (the first being against Pitt this year).
That would be truly remarkable. Two 20+ point underdog wins in the same season. But FSU doesn't have the injuries on its DL that Pitt had. Chip Long's going to have to dig deep to find a way to move the ball against the Seminoles. And potentially without Sims as well. We'd be like Sisyphus, who twice cheated death. But you know what happened to him. Ended up in Hades, pushing the rock uphill for eternity...

We are a BA team. No chance we can score enough points to beat teams with just average offenses. UNC actually has a good offense.

He blew his chance with that loss. You do not get 10 days to prepare and lay an egg like that and get a job offer.

Now, if Key does go 6-2 and GT somehow ends up in the ACCCG (probable loss), makes and wins a bowl game...well, that would present a very interesting argument in his favor.

If Key is able to pull the team back together, regroup, and be competitive in our next game, that will be a good sign. If not, then the 6 win season probably will not happen and a new coach will be coming.

It could be worse! So while this season could be bad from here on out, we’re still on stable ground compared to other programs.

On the other hand, it is entirely conceivable that we have seen our last win and will finish yet again with 3 wins on the year. I predicted that we would win 4 and am holding to that. The ones that we share the exact same record with that are surprising, at least to me, are Miami, Nebraska, Michigan State, Texas A&M, and maybe Auburn. Miami fans are in a typical frenzy with some of them even claiming that would rather have Manny back. The moderators on this site seem to think that posters are difficult to please, argumentative, and sometimes borderline crazy. Tech fans are rank amateurs compared to Miami fans when it comes to complaining. Everyone, I mean everyone, players, coaches, cheerleaders, the AD, the band, the whole crowd is fair game.

I wouldn’t really call us decent with Sims. We just aren’t the worst offense in FBS when we have him. Probably bottom third.

I'm guess what I'm saying is, if Key (Sisyphus) rolls the rock uphill twice and ends up with the job, I hope it works out and we don't end up doomed in Hades. That having been said, I'm pulling for him.

Key is having to be HC with GC staff and players. He does not have an off season to hire his own staff and he must try to win with players from GC. He is hamstrung from the start. He probably will get a gig somewhere but at a lower level. Wrong place at the wrong time for him. CL has been a disappointment for me but the QB play has not been stellar either and Key has to own the OL performance.

I wouldn’t really call us decent with Sims. We just aren’t the worst offense in FBS when we have him. Probably bottom third.

And, Sims was atrocious in the Pitt game. Whether you look at his PFF grade or saw him hit the Pitt LBs and DBs in the hands many times, the only takeaway is that was one of the worst games of his career, imo.

Total opposite vs. Duke, fwiw, but we've yet to see back-to-back solid games this year.
