Time for a coaching Change

In 2006 against Notre Dame there were 56,680 people that attended that game, but capacity according to Ramblinwreck.com is 55,000. Numbers are meaningless when discussing how many people were at the game. The big picture here is the quality of coaching that is happening on the sidelines. PJ has ran off 3 DC's during his time at Tech. With such turnover how in the world does anyone expect us to have a good defense. The OC has not changed in 8 years, but he gets a pass on our terrible passing game, terrible blocking schemes, and utter confusion on who has what responsibility when the ball is snapped. Is it Erin Joe's fault that he has zero composure on the field? Is it Snoddy's fault he has a cast on and is being asked to carry the ball securely? Is it JT's fault that he was a better passer in HS than he is now at Tech, which also happened to Josh Nesbit (look at his HS stats compared to Tech stats) by the way. Is it the OL line's fault that they are being asked to block a way that might have been ok in 70's but now is deemed to be either dirty or just not effective? Supersized, Squints, Skeptic wanted me to state valid reasons behind my dislike for Paul Johnson. There they are. When a business is failing or falling short of it's goals routinely, who gets the axe? The man in charge. Don't forget this is year 8 not 3 or 4 and we can't perform one of the basics of football (forward pass). Not acceptable, sorry if my standards are too high.

SPOT ON!!!

You are correct, the second DC I was referring to is the FSU DC. My apology.

Smh....Kelly was certainly not "run off"...he was hired away.

From earlier post....coaches fault that a QB was a better passer in high school than in college??? Really??? They ALL were. News alert...competition isn't quite as good in high school so it kind of follows. Just ask UGA....they have had more big time high school QBs fail than we have recently.

I don't mean to be disrespectful when I say this but your point on this isn't really worth responding to because it was so ridiculous. Makes it hard to take anything else you say as worthy of debate. But carry on...I ain't trying to silence ya....probly just won't converse much with ya ;)

Are you saying 48,500 was the paid attendance.... Yes...However the upper stands were almost empty. Watch a replay and you'll see how empty it was. NO way we were only 6,500K from a sellout....
Just saying that is the reported attendance. Not sure if paid or through the gates. Usually if Paid is in front of the word attendance, then it is just that, not what came through the gates.

I was pleasantly surprised with the east and west stands filled fairly well.

The upper North was bought out by UGA fans so they'd have assured tickets for COFH this year. Mutts had high expectations coming in. I was hoping Aub would beat em and some might stay away but it's gonna be a huge contingent of red n black this year.

Kelly was ran off. He wasn't offered the DC position at Tech. Sorry you find my analogies ridiculous, but I'm not here to get your approval. You may like the status quo of the program and that is your right, but I don't. What big time QB has Tech had recently? The one we have now sure wasn't one coming out of HS. He was an athlete in recruiting bio. Lastly, I'm not here to debate anything with you. You are making the point loud and clear that you aren't objective when it comes to discussing Paul Johnson. I'm willing to bet if you were as successful as Paul is at his job you would have a pink slip. I know I would. I live in a world of numbers if mine are good I keep my job. Mine begin to slip, I get a warning. I don't pick it up, I get fired. Simple. I had a great year last year in sales, but that means nothing for this year. You know why, last year means nothing to the success of this year. Happy travels, oh yeah I could careless what you think of me. I won't lose sleep.

@upstate. Weren't you just complaining a bit ago that CPJ detractors get silenced? Glad you managed to grow a thicker skin.

And no...Kelly was not run off.

I've never criticized Kelly for leaving. Doesn't change the fact that you mischaracterized the issue. So if your argument is Kelly > Roof and shoulda been hired...make that argument.

I seem to recall CPJ commenting on it previously though. I'm pretty certain he said we couldn't match what FSU offered Kelly.

I've never wanted to silence anyone. Not sure where you read that? I find it comical you say that when you pretty much dismissed my opinion and said it wasn't worthy for debate. That sounds like the pot calling the kettle black. I don't understand why my dislike for Paul Johnson tears soo many people up. Like him if you want, I won't think any less of you. We both want the same thing a successful football team. My choice of who our leader should be is different than urs. We will all live happily ever after. I know I will anyways.

No....you said CPJ detractors get silenced ...u actually said

Be careful when you state facts because some members of this board will crucify you. Also, don't have a negative opinion about the head coach or you might have to take a timeout for a couple of days. You and me are in the minority here. Best thing to do is bite your tongue.

You also use employment comparisons I suspect are apples and oranges. Do your numbers at work rely on the job performance of others? Maybe more applicable...Does your CEO get fired if he can't get you to raise your numbers?

Kelly vs Roof where did that come from. SMH. This a thread about Paul Johnson and whether he is the right man for the job. 3 DC's in 8 years and 1 OC. How can the defense have any continuity with that much change? Yet you try to derail this into something it's not. Stay focused on the topic.

Smh....you were the one that erroneously said Kelly was fired....then erroneously said he was demoted....I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt that there was some kind of logic behind both statements that you intended as criticism of CPJ. You derailed your own argument IMO.

He may because he is responsible for both of us. We are a team. The Pres of the company I work for is concerned about one thing better numbers than the previous year. If my numbers in year 8 were significantly lower than year 1 I would have a hard time keeping my job. Maybe not in your world, but mine is a cut throat world. Sale or find a new job.

Never said fired, you did. I said he wasn't first choice for the DC job. He wasn't. Al Groh was.

I said crucified not silenced. If you are going to quote me then quote correctly. Dang you put the quote in your response and still got it wrong. How can I take you seriously when you can't quote someone accurately. Please reread the post for clarity.
