If any of y'all old farts like me remember Kool Korner grocery on 10th just off Tech campus (best Cuban sandwiches anywhere IMO), they moved probably 10+ years ago to the Birmingham area. Last time I was there on business, I stopped by and it was just as good as I remembered from the late 90's. They had a bunch of Tech gear up in the store. If you go, you should look them up!

You want a better bowl? Make a yard on fourth down, don't fumble the ball, make an easy field goal, knock down a fourth down pass. We would not be in this situation if we beat UGA. We didn't and here we are going to a third rate bowl as other fans laugh at Tech...again. IIWII. We need to win this one in the worse way.
I don't agree with you ever. But this is a first

I just googled. Do you mean Kool Korner?

2nd worse team draw behind Army. This will be a fast game as both teams like to run the ball and posses. Turnovers will decide this, expect a close one possession game. Other than an opportunity to get 8 wins their is not much to gain here. Really wanted either OU or Florida.

I think you’re underestimating how good our defense has gotten.

Our prevent defense prevented us from a better bowl.

I would 100% would rather play vandy than any AAC team. In any other year, I would agree and say it’s a “no win” game, but all the crowing about Vandy and Oklahoma being 9 win teams in other conferences makes this year different.

The real no win is losing to a good Army team/winning against them. The respect to risk ratio is way off on that one.

I would actually wager J Batt lobbied for this particular game. Our fanbase flew transatlantic a few months ago - most of our fans can attend this game for the cost of $20 of gasoline, $20 parking, and a $40 ticket. It probably gives our highly distributed alumni base a good chance to catch a game while they are in town for the holidays visiting family too.

A lot for both teams depends on who actually shows up and plays. I don't see many Pro Potential players opting out but there could be a number of Portal players for both teams. Hope we don't lose any key players before the game! Need a healthy Haynes King as well.
It kind of reminds me of that Sun Bowl situation we found ourselves in against USC in 2013? or thereabouts. Tech wanted to play, USC wanted to showcase their pro prospects...they did not want to be there. The good citizens of El Paso all got behind Tech and Johnson ran that "damn bone" right down their throats. It is all about, who shows up as you said and who WANTS to be there.

This will be a test for Sanduchi and the defense. Vandy's offense dropped a good bit down the stretch against South Carolina, LSU and Tennessee. That is a fairly tough stretch of games. They also played Texas and Alabama in Conference Games. Seems the SEC wanted Vandy to suck and get easy wins for their "good" teams.

I understand what you are saying but for this team, at this point in the program, a win against Slippery Rock would really be helpful to Coach Key. Maybe next year we can huff and puff about who plays who at what bowl and such but right now it is more about put the ball down and lets go.
