Well, we may need more DL beef but we are losing at least 5 guys there and getting replacements is HARD.This will be a concern next yr for sure.
We've got a couple coming in from the portal. Apparently, Brayden Manley from Mercer was sought after by other schools.

Gt91, I don't follow recruiting or transfers closely enough to know if we already have some good speed and size receivers coming in. I fact, I'd love it if we did. I'm just saying someone needs to emerge based on the comments about Rutherford being easier to cover without the deep threat of Singleton.

My only comment - fire the Git-Back coach! :)

In my defense ....

NES, I have read up on string theory in the past and the concepts elude me tbh. WTBS, I noticed that Vandy had 0 TO's last night. Using string theory, can we use this to mathematically conclude (95% CI specified here) that they had no bad callls go against them?? ;)

The bad calls against Vandy (some call them makeup calls) happened after the path to the alternative universe was already chosen. In a different universe the refs got the early calls correct and Tech won 31-17.

Yes, refs are human. Yes, refs make mistakes. Yes, we should keep our complaints on the field. BUT, don’t piss on me and tell me it’s raining. And don’t expect me to just sit there. The refs deserved every last “o” of every boo they got.

i won’t say we got cheated out of a win, but I will go down saying we got cheated.

Have not read everything, just got home...

Replays at the stadium were weak sauce. Thankfully I had some folks text me. The refs did make some legit calls like on holding and on the face mask but we never saw them in the stadium.
Being there in person I felt the same way. Just felt like a bunch of bad calls one after the other.

I will say this - it got our fans riled up. We even booed Santa, which might have been one of the funniest things I’ve seen in awhile. Things seemed so absurd at the time, and the stadium announcers would come on with their hype stories and sausage commercials, and we just got sick of hearing ‘em. I yelled, “That’s not the real Santa!!” which got a few laughs.

The refs were horrible. To the point that my 88 year old mom watched the game and complained about some of the bad calls and Vandy’s extra curricular activities against our players after the whistle. This crew should be allowed to officiate a game next year.

I guess it depends on how one thinks the universe is constructed. In my string theory, parallel universe, the interception and the fumble don’t happen because the 3 bad ref calls don’t happen. So, to me, the bad calls are much worse because they created the chain of events that led to the interception and fumble.

I don't operate on things that can't be controlled. Sorry, but my brain doesn't operate that way. I'm a results driven person, so living in an imaginary world of what ifs doesn't change the score. You can't control the refs, but you can control where you throw the ball, and you can control ball security in traffic. GT still had chances to win it.

Speaking of extracurricular activities, one of the Vandy defenders squeezed Haynes King’s manhood after a tackle. It was the 3rd down that followed the overlooked punt catch interference. The trainers had to come onto the field to help King off. Very unsportsmanlike and a clear violation of the bro code.

The same eagle-eyed Ref that could see thru the front of a Vandy player and ascertain the GT player had demonstrated superhuman strength sending a Vandy player careening down the field using only the tip of his finger was the same Ref that could not see the Vandy WR pushing off and instead ruled the GT’s players chest was pushing into the Vandy WR’s hands so he fell backwards.

There are 2 takeaways here. GT players are immensely strong and Vandy player are extremely easy to fling around.

That Ref must have a PhD in Physics from that esteemed institute of scientific study in Tennessee with his ability to figure such things out.

This is true and I think these calls had a little bit less impact than the bad calls against ugag did, but its a bit like the SEC and Big 10 trying to stack the playoff with 5 teams each and taking all the autobids, and the ACC/Big12/ND only vying for spots 11 and 12. You still technically have a chance but the odds have been stacked against you instead of being a fair and equal competition.

If you think you can control all the circumstances of life you truly are living in an imaginary world. Don’t get me wrong, I understand that we have to act as if we are captains of the universe to avoid despair, but it’s pretty unrealistic to believe that accidents only happen to other people.

Seems like people on here tend to fall into 3 categories about the game:
1. Refs robbed us.
2. Vandy is a tough team and not easy to put away.
3. We suck and it’s all our fault we lost.

I’m kind of stuck between 1 and 2 myself. I felt all along that Vandy was about the worst matchup we could have drawn and I was dreading a loss. The stupid refereeing made the game ten times harder.

Not sure why anyone who leans toward 3 even bothers to follow the program.
