Does anyone know when we start spring practice? Do we still get 15 practices?
Some unannounced number changes for those that “earned” single digits.
These changes mean there are 16 of the 20 available single digits taken. RBs own 3 of them, and I’m sure JPM was offered one but chose to stick with his trusty #27. The 4 single digits left are #0, 3, and 5 for offensive players, and #6 for a defender.
- Gibbs went to #1
- Quez went to #4
- Dontae Smith also went to #4
- Chimedza went to #5
- Griffin to #6
- In sort of a weird move IMO, Malachi Carter and Zamari Walton are both wearing #7 after it was left unoccupied in honor of Bryce Gowdy last year.
- Nate McCollum went to #8
- Avery Boyd went to #9
Agreed. They haven’t really been on the field for him to show out and “earn” the digit. McGowan must be a high energy giy that’s working his *** off and buying into the “culture.” Hope he makes a big impact when they get on the field. Also, given the emphasis CGC has placed on single digits and "earning" it, you have to think Kyric McGowan is opening do a LOT of good things during the offseason to come in from another program and earn a single digit already.
Ya but single digit numbers make you look fasterI really liked Gibbs in 21, wish he would have stuck with it.
Zeek Biggers!!!I bet a certain 6’5” matchup nightmare gets 21 when he gets on campus
Bubba BlackburnZeek Biggers!!!
Zeek is even bigger than 6’5” or you’d be right! #21 has a legacy of offensive potency for us, especially from a certain HOF WR, so that was the direction I was headed with my commentZeek Biggers!!!
“We received word this morning of a small number of positive Covid-19 tests within our program,” head coach Geoff Collins said. “Out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to delay the start of our spring practice season. We will always err on the side of caution when it comes to the health and safety of our players and staff.
“Knowing that this is always a possibility, we built extra days that we could potentially practice into our spring schedule, so we were prepared in case this situation arose and fully intend to still hold our 15 practices allowed by the NCAA this spring.”
Georgia Tech football will resume practice as soon as appropriate, guided by direction from medical experts and with the health and safety of its student-athletes and staff as the top priority.
