Actually the room is deep based on some on field results and a lot of potential. The 4 transfers all have had their good and not so good moments. Without the 2 star Freshman recruit who made All american freshman wr, we would be having another discussion.
But he is back and has legit speed documented at track meet and will require defenses to be ready.
Adding in the high epectstions for #1 as another (possible) weapon could further add to defenses having even more coversge issues.
What we have w this wr group is tremendous upside.
With a few injuries fully healed, fewer wide open big play whoops incompletions, and with more same exact page wr/qb communications, this group can achieve very very special results.
The upside is huge
You missed it.
The room wasn't real deep.
Before bringing in four transfers. The only proven commodity in the room before last year was Rutherford.
We have Singleton and still have Rutherford. Leary was OK and Blaylock was OK but Lane was hurt and Janneh was eh.
Leary will be back and Lane hopefully will be healthy.
But I loathe the word potential.
As Casey Stengel once said about two players in spring training, each 20 years old. Pointing to one of them, he said, in 10 years, that guy has a chance to a Hall of Famer. He pointed to the other guy. In 10 years, he said, he has a chance to be 30.
