Three seasons. Six or seven games. No receptions.
in this day and age, when a kid like him decides to portal, it's just time to wish him well and let him move along.
There were some high hopes for him but for whatever reason, it never materialized at Tech for him. Maybe it will somewhere else.

Seemed like he was always behind 5-6 guys.

Some nice notes about those coming back admission that we need work on the return defense.

"Brumfield does, however, have to find a way to improve Tech’s kick return defense which ranked nearly last in the nation at defending kickoffs (26.8 yards allowed per return) and the punt return defense which ranked 10th among ACC teams."

Yeah, at the end of the season when, due to injury, we could not kickoff into the endzone, we were terrible. I held my breath everytime UCF returned a kickoff.

May see the writing on the wall, deep WR room with some talented freshmen coming in. He’s been really hampered by injury here too
The room wasn't real deep before last year when we brought in four transfers - Blaylock, Lane, Leary, Janneh.

Actually the room is deep based on some on field results and a lot of potential. The 4 transfers all have had their good and not so good moments. Without the 2 star Freshman recruit who made All american freshman wr, we would be having another discussion.

But he is back and has legit speed documented at track meet and will require defenses to be ready.

Adding in the high epectstions for #1 as another (possible) weapon could further add to defenses having even more coversge issues.

What we have w this wr group is tremendous upside.

With a few injuries fully healed, fewer wide open big play whoops incompletions, and with more same exact page wr/qb communications, this group can achieve very very special results.

The upside is huge

All true, but nothing works without the OLine. The most important unit on the team is the OLine. Hopefully the progress we saw last season continues forward and we have a top 15 offensive line. If so, we will score a lot of points. All I’ll be looking for in the 1st half against FSU is if our offensive line is pushing them around. That will tell me what to expect in the next 4 months.

You missed it.
The room wasn't real deep. Before bringing in four transfers. The only proven commodity in the room before last year was Rutherford.
We have Singleton and still have Rutherford. Leary was OK and Blaylock was OK but Lane was hurt and Janneh was eh.
Leary will be back and Lane hopefully will be healthy.
But I loathe the word potential.
As Casey Stengel once said about two players in spring training, each 20 years old. Pointing to one of them, he said, in 10 years, that guy has a chance to a Hall of Famer. He pointed to the other guy. In 10 years, he said, he has a chance to be 30.
