You guys do realize we were picked to finish 14th out of 14 teams in the ACC don’t you? Those of you not prepared for a losing season are setting yourself up for a disappointment. It’s going to be a long season. After watching football this weekend I think it’s going to be really tough for us to get to 6 wins. I hope I’m wrong but I don’t think an ACC team out there is working with less than we are right now.

And the schedule is an absolute monster. But I still feel the mojo and think we can go bowling tbh. Saturday will tell me if we’re going bowling or not this year.

We definitely would have been an underdog. Most of the season forecasts had USF headed into a strong season, and not us.

This is definitely a chance for Collins to show his coaching chops

I don't even care about his coaching chops. The young men need a victory to boost their own confidence.

This is one of the winnable games. Even Vegas thinks so.

I'm going to the game believing Tech is going to put it all together and win a low scoring game. At least that is what I hope to see on Saturday.

Unfortunately, it going to be one of those blast furnace days and I will be slow cooked in the east upper deck.

I'm hoping Dorian passing up the east coast will being a cooling spell in the SE. Has happened before.

I was actually kind of encouraged by what I saw this weekend. Pitt sucks. Duke had a nice game plan vs Bama, but doesn't have more talent than us. Virginia Tech's defense is still a sieve and Foster is probably mentally retired, already. UNC had a nice win, but who knows? Wins against uva and Miami seem unlikely. Just remember we wont face anything remotely close to Clemson until our final game.

We have to settle on a QB. Several come from behind games saturday were new QB's that passed their teams back. We need to have that ability. We have good RB in mason and Howard. WR s were not effective against a top team but now need to show their stuff. I think our guys can pass better than they showed against Clemson.

While I completely agree we won’t see anything like Clemson this year and I will include our last one n there, what we are working with at qb is just nowhere near what other teams outside of Duke will have. And they looked solid everywhere else. For me it’s difficult to have both an overall talent issue and a significant handicap at qb. You can mask one or the other but hard to mask both.

My counterpoint would be that our secondary got 2 picks in a half vs Trevor Lawrence and may feast on some of these mediocre QBs in the Coastal. As for our QBs, the jury is still out. We will see if the praise they got during the offseason was just motivational coach speak. But I am not judging them off this first game.

But you’re making excuses for the loss last year though by bringing up the kickoff returns and insinuating we were the better team.
Wrong. An excuse excuses poor behavior. I’m not excusing anything. The mistakes last year were inexcusable. I’m simply saying these unusual mistakes allowed a lesser team to beat a better one. The better team doesn’t always win. We had over 600 yards of offense in that game.

Now, just because we were the better team last year (inspite of the loss), doesn’t guarantee we’re the better team this year. If we can’t move the ball or keep USF from moving it, it’s a pretty tough argument to make that we’re the better team.

Wrong. This same team would not be picked 14 if CPJ were still here. It’s not simply the personnel.

That’s because these players were recruited for CPJ’s system. When Boaty says no one is working with less that’s what he is referring to. If you had a room full computer engineering majors and you were trying to right a computer program, you could get it done but not as well as a if you had a room full of computer science majors.

Bull crap. It is frikkin ridiculous to ignore the athletic capability of the current roster. This is just more lowering of the bar of the Kool aid drinkers afraid their Messiah isn't what they believe he is.

We would have likely been picked 10 to 12. Lost a lot of production from a 7-6 team. Still thinking 5-7 wins because I don't think much of the competition and I actually believe 2 of 3 phases of our game will be better.

It’s not bull crap but you’ve got your head so far up your own *** calling people Kookaid drinkers, that it’s probably why bull crap comes to mind. There is a reason Clemson doesn’t recruit undersized mobile linemen for their offense but CPJ did. Yes we have talent at certain skill positions, but it doesn’t really matter when your offensive line can’t block because they were recruited to cut block and get down field, not back peddle and form a pocket.
