Treat the visiting bands like our band gets treated when they travel. Stick the visiting band in one of the upper decks in the very corner. I believe we’ve already done that once this year, but I can’t remember which game.
I believe that’s Clemson. And I’m not totally sure, but I Believe they chose that and put the fans in the corner.

We simply have trouble filling Bobby Dodd Stadium period. Even in 1990 we didn’t sell out all the games.

Today’s game was supposedly sold out.
It filled in,
But , north upper deck had a lot of empty seats.
South endzone, right side was pitiful. Student section started clearing out at the end of the 3rd quarter.

Students need to be able to transfer tickets to other students. To be 8-0 and see that glaring empty spot on TV is very disappointing

These are the worst seats in the stadium and people who sit in the south end zone would rather sit in the middle than in the corner, it's general admission in the whole area so you don't need to sit in an assigned seat. I don't think they enforce ticket checks for this section so anyone should feel free to sit there if they want!
My fiancé actually asked me midway through the 2nd Q if we could move to those seats in the second half. Something about shade and being able to spread out. We would have, but it would have taken forever to get there and I wasn’t sure if they were checking tickets.

I did tell her that the Swarm would appreciate her suggestion :ROFLMAO:

It was a great crowd from what I could see. Almost entirely Tech fans. South end zone had the same problem as previous games.

This was the south end zone just before SU kicked their field goal in the first quarter. It go only slightly better as the game went on.

Not sure if it is still the case, but a portion of these sections (135/136) used to be allocated/reserved to the AA for its student athletes. Most of the other GT sports are in action this weekend or in the thick of preseason training. Might partially explain it.

It's been the case at every home game this season.

Either way it's
A) season ticket holders not showing up (if it's this , the school needs to implement a policy that if you miss 2 games let's say, your seat is opened up as a single game ticket OR students need to be allowed to transfer to single game tickets)

B) not enough season tickets sold for that section, and the school is being stubborn about opening it up to single game tickets

Something needs to change though.

People may not like the bitching , but it's an obvious issue. Several alumni around me at the game Saturday, were discussing the disappointment of seeing that section empty as well.

Sent an email to the executive AD this morning, the school is content with that section being empty , since it's student section season ticket holders.

Honestly, they should keep it as is and just stop checking wristbands at kickoff. You want your guaranteed seat, you gotta show up early. Maybe it would fill in naturally.

We only have one more home game anyway, next year I’m sure the process will change. Brent Jones/Ryan Alpert has done a good job responding to fans and no doubt they’ve seen how many are bringing this up.

Correction: Apparently they were checking wristbands all game.
