Who do you think will step up this summer and earn playing time at AB, BB, WR? Who will be the top contributors at these positions this season?

I have no idea.
I look forward to seeing Lands-Davis, Marcus and Philpott in this offense, led by JT.
The D's potential interests me more. Those kids had a great second half of the season. They have a great opportunity this season. I hope they seize it.

WR- Summers, Jeune, Messick, 1 of 3 frosh (hard to know...hear Philpott's put on weight).

AB- Snoddy, Ike, Lynch, Searcy, maybe 1-2 of Marshall, MLD, Cottrell

BB- Allen, Skov, Weimerskirch or MLD

I'm not sure, but I could see this group of guys being very electric. There should be a lot of intensity and big time plays being made. I'm more excited about the talent level at our skilled positions than I have been in a while.

I think the fact that there aren't any "set starters" will be a good thing for us, as guys will work hard to make an impression during the games.

My predictions....

1) Searcy is going to be huge for us, call it a hunch, but the kid seems to have the "it" factor.

2) Marshall will gain meaningful minutes and be a contributor.

3) We will not have a drop off this year at BB...The combo of Skov/Allen will keep the train moving.

4) Ricky Jeune will be our next NFL WR, followed closely by Philpott

5) Our D will be top 4 in the ACC this year.

6) We will beat UGA

I agree with these but suspect we'll use both Summers and Jeune in a more balanced passing attack this year. No data here but just a hunch.

I still think we will see Nate Cottrell this year. You can teach a kid to block, but not many can be taught run a 4.3 40. He seems to have added some bulk and I like him a lot at A-back. I agree about Searcy.

I came into the spring game expecting to see a mediocre, third string type B back. At least in the running part I saw a back with power and exceptional acceleration for a B. Boomer said after the game he was clueless at times about his assignments, but I'm gonna assume he will have those down much better by game time. He'd be one answer to your question.

The other obvious choice is Snoddy. If the break doesn't take anything away, he was showing huge talent the last few games before the injury.

Looking forward to this fall, but when you see all the YOUNG talent we have, 2016 might be a very good year.

I'm excited about Harland Howell. I really feel like he will be a stud before he steps off campus

WR:
The Harland Howell, Ricky Jeune, Christian Philpott, Messick group has at least 2 NFL prospects there. I think Philpott is a surefire "next GT WR" with his size/speed combo...reminds me of Stephen Hill but with better hands. CP is a more natural receiver than Hill was. I think CPJ will have special plays to make use of CP's speed similar to what he did when Hill was a true freshmen. Jeune actually reminds me of a lot of Deandre Smelter...a possession type receiver who's not a burner, but just fast enough and someone who understands spacing and positioning to get to the ball. Messick looks the part...he can get behind the secondary, has "next GT WR" size, and his blocking is what got him on the field last year ahead of Jeune. The question with Messick is consistency...can he make the plays when the ball is thrown to him? I would not be surprised to see Messick become a lethal receiving threat...and it wouldn't surprise me to see Messick be a key reserve to role is to block. Don't know much about Howell outside of his HS tape. I think he redshirts in 2016, but he's another big body guy that has good speed.

AB:
LOVE this group. Probably the most dynamic group of ABs we've had since CPJ has been here. Unfortunately, most of them are young and inexperienced. I think at least 2 freshmen will have to play (I think it's Cottrell, and wouldn't surprise me to see Marcus Marshall or MLD move to AB for this season). I think CPJ has some big plans for our offense with how he's recruiting for the AB position, but it's something we'll probably see in 2016 due to youth and inexperience. As for 2015, I really like Searcy's athleticism. He's going to be a dynamic AB. That guy is just a pure athlete that can play a myriad of positions on both sides of the ball. Snoddy really came on last season, and hopefully he just picks up where he left off after the unfortunate injury. He's a homerun threat every time he touches the ball. I'm intrigued by Omahri Jarrett's skillset...but he may be more of a factor next year.

BB:
I really think either MLD or Marshall moves to AB for 2015 because both are more physically mature than any AB we have coming in. Both are gifted guys with the ball in their hands. I think Marcuse Allen will be a VERY good BB before it's all said and done. The time away from BB might have actually helped him. He just needs to get some more meat on his bones and get stronger...but his running in the Spring game gave us a tantalizing glimpse of what he can be at the position. Skov will be a bruiser, and he won't make those cuts to bounce to the outside...to me, he's like a stronger David Sims which is fine. Whoever between MLD or Marshall that doesn't move or redshirt will be #3 BB. Hopefully we won't need them until mop-up time. Due to injury, I think QFro redshirts in 2015. Dude will be a REALLY good BB before it's all said and done though...love his running style.

I like this post, but I worry a bit about MLD's academic readiness. Alexander is not a great school. They have not challenged the kids that I know out there and I think GT may be a huge shock for him. CPJ may plan to redshirt him for that reason.
