Looks like Auburn just got a real QB...is WR next to sign ?
I mean debatable. You have to think he was a 5 star qb for a reason but he looked awful against p4 competition and is one of the leaders in fumbles in the country

I think he would have been better served going to a program that isn’t going to be in a win now panic like Auburn and Hugh Freeze

I would not say unlimited but I do believe that both Auburn and Ol Miss have some deep pocket donors who are willing to pay good players

Erics skillset best fits with kiffen. Which would not be the worst place for him to end up except its Oxford.

I've been away when this happened on a short vacation.

I don't blame Singleton for this. If I was as good a football player as he is under present rules, I'd do the same if onty to see if I could get Tech to finally come around. Fortunately, our WR room is well stocked already. Singleton going might even lead to seeing Elko and Horne on the field at last. I especially want to see Elko play; I think he has the hands to be a really good possession WR. But they both have WRs in front of them and good ones coming in. We'll just have to see what the coaches say.

Mind, I'd like Singleton to decide to stay. He's experienced and has great speed. This is a real plus in the running game as well as at WR. But … if he goes there are others.

How many wins did he lead OU to again?

I don’t know how in one of the poorest states in the country but Ole Miss supposedly has one of if not the biggest NIL collective.

Well, what else are you spending money on in Mississippi? There aren’t any pro teams and not a lot to do in Jackson. There is a lot of old, southern money and that flows primarily to Ole Miss.

He’s visiting Texas next week..

This is certainly him trying to get the biggest bag possible.

That's a good offense for him, and it sounds like Ewers will be moving on so he'll get to play with Arch Manning. He'll have LOTS of NFL scouts watching him. Texas has a lot of money so they'll be competitive NIL-wise. Austin is a fun city, and UT is a good school. UT would be a good choice for him if they're competitive for NIL. Plus, I won't have to root against him if he goes to UGA.

I’m just baffled by the move personally. I know a lot can happen in a year, but if he thinks he’s good enough to go pro he’s pretty much shopping for a 1 year pay day. Idk if it was me I’d personally want to see it through at the school that took a chance on me as a 2 star. Especially if it was for one more season and the talent that team had coming in and coming back..

I don't blame him, honestly. The reported $2 million is life changing money for anyone. Who knows what his situation is. I heard it's not a football thing, and he'd like to stay, but the money being thrown at him would change the rest of his life. From what I understand, Key also encouraged him to see what he could get, and if he doesn't get the money he hoped, returning to GT could still be in play. I think those odds are not looking good for GT since he's one of the top WRs in the Portal. Also, he could return to finish his GT degree at a later date, but with a $million plus secured in his bank account.

At 20/21 years old, and knowing GT couldn't afford what good schools with good football programs can, I personally would have a hard time doing anything different from what Singleton is doing at that age.

According to 247 Singleton was our highest rated recruit in 2023. Did he commit when he was a much lower rated recruit? That’s a real question, I haven’t looked up the timing.
