Bama, under Saban, did a really good job of prepping players for the NFL. Defensive players were especially well prepared for a while. Saban isn't there now, and while they're still a big fish, they aren't the same team as they were under peak Saban.I don’t buy that- Gibbs‘ stats weren’t much better at Bama then at Tech, NFL scouts were fully aware of him at both places
Gibbs got publicity, but Bama didn't showcase him well or do much to improve his draft prospects. He was probably drafted as much on what he did here as what he did at Bama. To some degree, I'd even say Bama his his talent.
TFG basically drove him away by being a bad coach.
Key went through Saban university and runs a disciplined ship. you can already see results. We have been prepping players well on offense, and now we're doing that on defense. We can improve, and each time Key has needed to improve the coaching staff, he's done so.
For example, if he was here this year, I think Kennard has the same kind of year here as he had at South Carolina. Part of that is being a senior. He would have had good coaching this year.
Again, one complaint our opponents have about is is that we're well coached. NFL scouts know where the good coaches are, and they look for the players they train.
Also, With a couple off game changers, we become scary.
