SEC East Georgie

So it is SEC media time and we get to listen to the SEC hype for 3 days. I was reading on the AJC Dawg Blog how they expect to be named the favorites in the East. They think a 12-1 Season is to be expected. Ok, so I am a Tech guy but their reasoning is all the talent they have and all the talent coming back. I know they have these great recruiting classes, a bunch of 18 and 19 year olds, but frankly I don't see this great talent. We have beaten them 2 out of 3 years and probably should have in 2015. To me the SEC East is
Florida
Georgia
then the rest who knows.

This kind of runs with the thread that Tennessee think we are a warm up game. Don't those people know we own the SEC East.

There is literally nothing different between 2017 and the last several years - years where they have finished the season ranked only once. They have averaged a top 5-7 recruiting class for a decade. Sure, they could go 12-1 or 15-0, or they could go 8-5 or who knows. There is literally nothing this year that would lead an unbiased observer to think their team will be any better than it usually is.

The Dawgs are banking on the assistant coach with no HC experience will be able to harness their talent and turn it into SEC gold. After watching them last year, they will need a few seasons for Smart to get there. They have more in common with 2008-9 Clempson than they want to admit.

Cracks me up cuz Chuck Oliver picked them based upon the D and the returning RB's and QB situation but said his greatest concern is how thin the O line is. Well that kinda negates the QB & RB's if they have a crap O line which would put them just barely above Florida. On top of that I believe it was last week that John Kincade was crying that all those years the dwags under achieved was because of the media over hyping them. No, pretty sure it was poor coaching, poor play or other teams just being simply better and utilizing the talent better. Chuck Oliver even said that ESPN is married to the SEC(rap) and that they have to hype them up.

Imagine how poor uGA would be if they weren't stock full of 4* and 5* athletes. They can't even beat Vanderbilt at Homecoming as it is. They'd probably almost lose to Nichols State or Georgia Southern.

This is how I see their season turning out.

App state: W
ND: L (away game)
Sanford: W
Miss state: W
UT:L (away game)
Vandy: W
Missouri: W
UF: L (away game)
USC : W
AU: L (away game)
UK: W
GT: L (the only home loss)

Final record 7-5

I could see them beating 1 or 2 of the first 4 L's though, but I could also see them losing a game they shouldn't.

The advantage of being a Tech fan right there. We temper expectations due to this little thing called REALITY, lol! App State could surprise them and every other game is a toss up in my opinion until we see them in an actual game. Would you say that it is easier to predict their season or our season at this point though with all the variables going on with both Tech and UGA?

They play at Georgia Tech this year.

I’m not even sure how much of a compliment it is to say we run the SEC East.
