If in doubt, screw the ACC.True. But the ACC pretty much decides who goes to the games. The bowls have some wishlists, but I have a feeling we get screwed.
It was real when I was a student. I ended up in the military for 4 years and then came back to a kinder, gentler GT with fewer hours needed to graduate and no foreign language requirement.Wow, still hanging onto the old Tech shaft theory….
I don't think the ACC has much input any more. The bowl games used to be about selling tickets and renting hotel rooms. Today the bowl games are about TV, and nothing else. The picking order was changed from a pecking order that specifically called out the standings order in the ACC to two groups of bowls that decide based on best match up. If ESPN believes that they can get a good TV draw with GT, then GT will get a good bowl. The ACC won't have much say in it.True. But the ACC pretty much decides who goes to the games. Miami needs to be ranked ahead of Alabama and South Carolina on TuesdayIn fact. I think it’s SMU and either Clemson or Miami with Clemson’s only path being a win.
247 is the only place I've seen with bowl projections updated today and they have the following ACC games:I believe we are Birmingham bound hopefully against a bottom SEC team. Probably Vandy.
Gasparilla, First Responders, and Birmingham bowls are the second tier ACC bowls. All of the other bowls select in tier one. (Not really select like they used to, it is a "collaborative" effort with ESPN to find matchups) Birmingham and Gasparilla get whatever is left over after the first tier bowl games are set.I could all of this except NC State to Duke Mayo (if Minnesota is opponent), Syracuse to Sun, and GT to Birmingham. I'd rather play Oklahoma or Florida than a former Pac-12 team or AAC team in Fenway/Military. In other words, if there is a pecking order Birmingham and Gasparilla should be ahead of Fenway, Military and probably Pinstripe.
CBS sports also has us projected to the Sun Bowl vs USC247 is the only place I've seen with bowl projections updated today and they have the following ACC games:
Playoff: SMU as #3 seed
Pop Tarts: Miami vs Iowa State
Gator: Louisville vs Mizzou
Holiday: Clemson vs Washington St
Sun: GT vs USC
Duke Mayo: Syracuse vs Minnesota (no way this happens Syracuse only gets this if Michigan or maybe Nebraska sells tickets)
Pinstripe: Pittsburgh vs UConn (looks like Iowa would be here but traded out for First Responder)
Fenway: VT vs Tulane
Military: UNC vs Navy
Birmingham: NC State vs Oklahoma
Gasparilla: Duke vs Florida
LA Bowl: Cal vs UNLV (Cal will play in a Pac-12 bowl)
First Responder: BC vs Iowa (BC is the team left out of ACC bowls and Iowa trades Pinstripe for this)

ESPN just posted their bowl projections. Both guys have us in the Pinstripe vs Minnesota
Saw that - that would be a repeat of our victory over Lane in 2012.CBS sports also has us projected to the Sun Bowl vs USC
Minnesota is good. Their defense will hit youMan, that would suck so much ***. I’m still hoping for a matchup with a 7-5 SEC team or something
Still not sure how they lost to UNC early in season, but they are a hard hitting team.Minnesota is good. Their defense will hit you
I would like the Sun Bowl. I liked that in the 2010s247 is the only place I've seen with bowl projections updated today and they have the following ACC games:

also the baseball stadiums that you seem to loathe us possibly playing in are not any ordinary stadiumsThe misery is not over. Those refs pretty much eliminated us from Charlotte, San Diego, Orlando and Jacksonville. We’re going to be relegated to some piss poor bowl in a ****ty location, on a ****ty date against some ****ty 6-6 or 7-5 BS P4 or some worthless 1aa team. I hope we don’t get dumped down to a baseball stadium in some scummy northeast city.
We're still wondering ourselves as we consider the what ifs at this point in the season. Big issue was our QB was a Portal grad transfer in his first D1 game. Hot stuff at New Hampshire but it took time. He ended up adjusting well to the speed of the game near the end of September. Was a real issue though for NC for our first game. Defense got better too over the season and yes, they are hard hitting. We have a true freshman LB named Koi Perich who is our next edition of Antoine Winfield Jr. if you know who he is.Still not sure how they lost to UNC early in season, but they are a hard hitting team.
Minnesota will not be in the Pinstripe. We were there 2 years ago and we are high enough in the pecking order to miss that one this year.Man, that would suck so much ***. I’m still hoping for a matchup with a 7-5 SEC team or something
I've been to Fenway, it was cool to tour for the history. But I would not want to watch any sporting event there if you are over 5'10, the seats are incredibly tight.also the baseball stadiums that you seem to loathe us possibly playing in are not any ordinary stadiums
IT IS YANKEE STADIUM AND FENWAY PARK. Two shrines of American sports. Would it be far away? Yes. But it would be a unique experience.
