Reading his background, I am surprised by this. There has to be something going on beyond just performance for this to happen out of the blue. Since I am sure Key signed off on personnel decisions and we were reasonably successful in ST last year. There had to be some fundamental disagreements on ways to move forward.

This surprises me too. The ST performance certainly needs to improve, I'm just a bit surprised if this actually turns out to be what it looks like.

Kind of an odd thing to be reported, but not reported nor confirmed by KQ, Rod, Chad, nor Ken. Also no details - reported by someone with knowledge? people saw him escorted to his car?
Can't say that it isn't true, but I'll wait until it is announced or at least confirmed by one of the guys who is known to have inside sourced before I believe it to be true.

I don't know.. I have been disappointed with STs too but feel like he has our corners playing much better. This seems unlikely to me.

Key expects his players to get better. Maybe that applies to his coaches as well. ST hasn't gotten better.
Of course there could be other non-football situations that are not really known outside the program and this isn't related to performance if it is even true.

May not even be true or something occurred outside football. Birr has not been up to last years performance but we have not covered punts well.Did well last year:
