Reported crowd was less than 30K. That I don’t believe. Photos look like we had more than that.

Box score says 29.4K, We had to have had more than that. Based on photos the east upper deck and south lower deck looks more full than the Duke game and all of the lower deck except the south stands were full. Maybe attendance is reported at kickoff because it looks like we had like 35K. Traffic was bad last night so a lot of people arrived late.

Yeah it was pretty sparse at kickoff. But folks kept steaming into their seats well into the 2nd quarter.

Then folks began streaming out. Hard to blame them - it was awful to watch.

The dook attendance was way overreported. I think many Homecoming alums stayed home and they counted them as there. There were maybe 25k at the dook game.
I think attendance was accurate, the duke game was crazy loud. The lower deck was mostly full and that alone has near 30K, so that plus spare change in the upper deck probably amounts to 33K or so.

Also to make us feel better our attendance is better than Duke, Wake Forest, and probably Miami. The UNC at Miami game drew 17,000 people. For Duke that would make sense but Miami? Jeez.

That game was loud given the size of the crowd. Not loud like some of our other big ACC games where the stands were shaking for example FSU miracle & VT homecoming. Our stadium is 55k. I don't know the exact seat breakouts but let's say west upper and lower is 10k, same for east, north is 10k and south is 5k. For dook upper west was 20% for 2000, lower west was 60% for 6000, that's 8k fans. Double that for east and you're at 16k. North was 1/3 full for another 3k, then there's maybe 1k in south. dook was 20k turnout. Last night was probably 24-25k, basically half the seats were empty. The paid gate was 29k for Virginia. 80% of paid tickets showing is is pretty good these days.

That's what I thnk but I could be wrong.

I think had we played on saturday we would have had a better crowd too. Weather also impacts it.

Roddy and Spatola were just crushing us on ACC on XM radio about attendance. Said after two wins, needed to have more than 20,000 fans there. I agree. It was not very crowded at all. I don't think we had 30,000 there personally. Upper East was pretty light and Upper North was basically empty. Unfortunate.

Yup. It was cold last night. If the team is doing well, folks will brave the cold. When the entire program is in shambles, not so much...
it was cold but y’all are acting like it was a snow day in buffalo or something. put on some jeans a hoodie and a beanie and the temperature was fine

This is correct. The bigger issue here is that we've lost way more than the 5-6k fans per game that many including myself believed we had lost. It's probably close to 10k, maybe 12k. We probaby are losing $7-8M, could be as high as $10M in revenue annually due to the failed experiment. In stocks it's called trying to catch a falling knife, not a good move. We needed to hit the eject button at beginning of last year and cleared house. Batt is inheriting a huge mess and it will likely take him 5 years to unravel the damage that regime has done and get us on solid footing. To think just 4 years ago we were operating in the black & now we're probably sustaining close to if not exceeding double digit (>$10M) revenue losses coupled with a payroll that's about $6-8M/yr more. Pretty bleak.

I was there until the bloody end...it was cold, regardless of what the weather in Buffalo was.

I definitely was disappointed in the attendance. Clearly the masses didn't believe the turn around was legit and sadly, they were right. It seemed like a lot of folks were really late...and then left early after seeing the mess unfold on the field. IIWII. I was hoping to see more support, but it might be too much to ask until they prove something on the field.

It could have been the booze, or maybe where I was sitting, but it didn't feel that cold to me. Not warm, but I took off my jacket around halftime and was fine the rest of the game without it.

Attendance was poor as has been the case for a while now - where I was sitting in the lower west was definitely not full, I think there were maybe 5 other people in my row and only 5 or 6 in the row behind me. Students seemed to show up, and it looked like more people were in the gold seats than usual which was nice. Upper north and the south end zone were pretty empty, and upper east was pretty sparse as well. Even after the game, the North Ave marta station wasn't nearly as crowded as I would have expected.
