I agree. The should get off the
er, what do you call a LOSING season?--if losing is more losses in record than wins at Tech (which is what this can only be about)--it WOULD be the SECOND in last 6 yrs or any 6 yrs. 2010 was only "losing" record
if it were different we wouldn't be going to bowls--it takes 6 wins to get there
he is not a great coach but not mediocre based on record
Dont think you should count beating alcorn , Mercer types. Kind of a bias to keep some less demanding fans happy.
We did almost lose to Gardner Denver

Acc won loss and acc chamionship game seem to be a minium standard. Against big 4 is more if what I prefer.
Of course I prefer to be 4w 6l playing 1968
TCU, Miami, clemson, Tennessee, auburn, tulane, duke, navy, norte dame, uga
1969 smu, Baylor,CLEMSON, Tennessee, auburn, southern california, duke, tulane,, NOTRE DAME, UGA.
tough hard fought games against srveral hall of fame pro football players . Some great victories & heart breaking loses. No gimmes.

Wonder what I record would be against that line up. Probably 3-7 & 5-5.

Some programs stay on top, some go up some go down. Some are satified at 2 wins over .500 while playing 2 pansies. I am not. We need to aim higher

He is about to have his 4th losing season vs FBS in 6 years--barring a second miracle of winning out this season. He has clinched a .500 season at best.

His FBS career win % at GT is 56%. Take away the first 2 years with Gailey's talent and it's closer to 50%. Gailey's career win % at GT was 55%. He was fired.

Insult me all you want, but the facts speak for themselves. He is a mediocre FBS coach. Fans who accept these results accept mediocrity.

Do you have facts, or only insults?
This is why folks should be wary of cherry picking numbers. He had a solid record over that period, though nothing like 2014. And if he had "Gailey's talent" the first two years, then did he not have it the next two, when the record was not spectacular? Or is there now a 2-year eligibility rule for argument's sake? Then of course you go on to compare "career win" record vs. Johnson's FBS record and call it square. For good measure you toss out division titles and the ACC title, vacated because of ... a Gailey player. Arggh. You must make a living writing talking points for pols. I think Stylee got your number early.

What I know about 1969 is that all those rosters were composed of 80 to 90% student athletes. The playing field was much more level at that point in time. I would love to see Bud Carson be successful today. Not likely. I would also love to see what Bobby Dodd would think about today's football and knowing that a very high % of the players we play against today are not college material and were never going to grace the doors of their school if they were not playing. The wonderful thing about stats is you and I can look at them and twist them in the direction of our personal desire. I am very pro PJ and I find absolutely no reason to change my mind. I just smile and move forward knowing that if we were to go in another direction, the new coach could not hate losing more than our current leader.

I am pro CPJ also. We have struggled this year, but as a general rule, we play good football every year. We have had the highest average SAT scores for football players. We are in the top 10% APR ratings in the NCAA. We have very good football players who are very good students. Other schools(UNC) in the ACC created classes to send their football players to(or not attend at all) in order to keep their grades up. I want to have a football team that wins football games. I would not put up with a football team that risked the integrity of the school.

Well, this has been the worst year by far under CPJ's leadership, and yet, we have been competitive in all but one of our games. That means something. It would be a different story if we were getting handled every game. We are not. We are merely failing to find a way to win. We were dominant last year offensively. So much so, in a historical sense, that it is hard to view this season's offensive woes through an appropriate lens. Believe it or not, many teams would love to have our offensive woes. Heck, UGAg hasn't scored an offensive TD in how long?

In prior years the haters have said...yeah you beat Duke and UNC but aren't beating VT, Miami, Clemson, and UGA. This year we might beat those 4 and lose the rest. Every game matters. Good point Boomer. We haven't played awful. Just awful at times. Played well at times too. Haven't played consistent all year.

Do we have some rebuilding to do? Yes. Are we a likely playoff team next year? No. A likely bowl team? Probably. ACC contender? Maybe. Would a new coaching staff or coaching changes improve things? I seriously doubt it.
