Even though I know the answer. After the TD w/ 3 TOs, why let not Butker kick it deep out of bounds. If get a 3&out, (like the D did) you are now starting the game tying drive @avg your own 40-45 instead of inside your 20?

This actually upset me a lot. Kick deep and the D is energized, ready to get a stop. Onside and fail and it's such a buzz kill. There was a lot of time. We should have kicked deep. Even as bad as the D played after Gotsis went out, there was much higher chance that we get a three and out than recover the onside.

There is no way in hell we could have stopped them from getting a first down. I saw it as our only chance to get the ball back.

I actually thought the sky kick we did against UGA last year was the proper call. They had ten guys at the line and only one deep man. Still tough to be overly critical, as we were an inch away from it not hitting us and getting the ball.

I kind of disagree. Butker may be the best onside kicker I've ever seen.

I think what we might need to do is put Jordan in when we are that close to the goal line. JT is a great QB, but he simply doesn't have inertia on his side in these situations. Tim would have done the job easy, but Matthew, at 210, would be our best bet now, imho.

This may be true, but we need to block it better too. MJ is bigger but he will need to time things better to take advantage of his size. These goal line plays have just been very awkward. They need to be executed better, bottom line. Adding a more physical QB can help too.

Agree. Look at the last two UNC possessions (scores). We did not come close to stopping them. We are not subbing enough to have anything left on D in the 4th Q.

I was hoping to get outside on the 2nd try from the 2. Everyone in BDS knew we would go up the middle and get stuffed so why not take a shot on the long side of the field?
