Questions for CPJ & Players - GT Media Day 2017

Media Day is this Thursday, August 3 (the day when players report for Fall Preseason Camp) in the afternoon. Coach Paul Johnson will have a press conference, followed by 9 student-athletes (TBA) in groups of 3 for 25 minutes apiece. We hope to have the opportunity to participate in the Media Day portion for the 4th year in a row

So with that we wanted to open this thread up to hear your suggested questions. Like last year, we're interested to take some questions from the board to the Q&A sessions. No promises on what will be selected and asked

This is a more serious event for legitimate inquiries, so as @CuseJacket once said, "If you're interested in learning CPJ's favorite cereal, that's a great question, however the answer will have to wait until a more casual setting e.g., postgame presser ;)"

What percent of the offense plays are not TO. Imo it seems like well over 60%.

With tbe so many young talented qb, ab, bb wr would it be practical to let the back ups become very proficient at a couple of those plays. This would keep the back ups motivated and drive dc crazy.

I like this concept. It is not that different than the popular use of a backup running QB or RB used in the QB spot for special plays. Something like run the WR reverse to our fastest WR (Anderson maybe instead of a starter). Or Quaide at AB in the red zone to block. Or Benson on the BB loop down the sideline pass. Or JJ at AB on the counter. And then once you do this they sometimes become decoys for some regular stuff.

Have the coach's considered using two punt return receivers (we have two, or more good ones). Two can better cover the field and this would cut down on the number of punts that hit the ground (and roll). It would get another blocker in better position downfield to protect the catch. We rarely go for the block so I do not see a downside.

any chance we use the goal line/short yardage formation he used at Southern, with a couple of big DL lined up in the backfield to clear the way for the best RB?

also, what kind of command of the team/huddle does Matthew have and how much work has he put in to be a better passing threat?

when it comes to opera, are you more of a puccini guy or more of a wagner guy? or gilbert and sullivan? bizet?

You've said that there's quality depth at QB and you'd be comfortable calling plays for any one of them. Are you considering a QB rotation to capitalize on their different or more developed skill sets in certain situations? You seem to like the bruiser on the goal line. Do you like the passer on 3rd & long? What's your philosophy on that? Have you done it successfully before?

OK, serious question. Which offensive and defensive player has, in your estimation improved the most since the start of spring practice until now? Does NOT have to be a starter.

Hard to say but it seems that well over 70% are not triple option. A lot of that depends upon the quarterback skill set and so forth. Probably varies a good bit from year to year. This year I would not use it very much at all with MJ until he becomes comfortable with the pitch. IMHO
