Yeah that's what I was thinking when I saw that. I swear we had another guy in the past 10-15 years who's career got completely derailed by a Lisfranc injury (not talking about Marshall here either, I think there was another). I hope he's truly back at full strength by spring, that'd be a HUGE help in trying to learn the offense and compete for a starting role.Be careful getting too hopeful. Lisfranc injuries are notoriously difficult to recover from and re-occur if you come back even the slightest bit too early. I believe that this injury is what sidelined Andrew Marshall for nearly 1 1/2 years...
“Johnson is recovering from a tear of the Lisfranc ligament in his foot this past preseason. Anderson said that Johnson expects to be 100 percent by spring practice.“

FTFY!Old thread being bumped! Scared me for a hot minute!!
I think he already redshirted, so I don't think he could get a year back.Wonder what the probability of him getting a medical RS after this year if he wanted it.
Me too.Went back and re-watched some of his spring game highlights. He looked good passing and running. I'm surprised he wasn't the starter before his injury in Fall.
He could apply for a medical Redshirt. Tim Byerly did it a few years ago but was denied since he did play in a few games.I think he already redshirted, so I don't think he could get a year back.

They're both granted by the NCAA, so they generally go hand-in-hand.The problem isn't getting the medical redshirt, it's getting an extension of the 5 year window which I think requires two years to be impacted by injuries, or similar situations.
