What is Zac alley salary for taking the DC job @ Oklahoma? Jacksonville was paying him $213,000 per year
OU was paying Roof 1.15 million so I imagine Alley stands to make 2 to 3 times what his salary was from last year if he can leverage that much out of them. And that would still leave OU with more money to spend elsewhere.

Does this thread need to be merged with the other DC thread?
Please no. That other one is riddled with off topic conversations.

Go pay Jeremy Pruitt, the dude can coach and recruit real defensive talent. He had his issues with the rules, but great news: it’s all legal now!

Not sure if serious. That guy has a show cause that expires in like 2029. We literally can't hire him.

If he’s already adding assistants, he knows who will be the coordinator.
Yes and no. There is some coaches who hire their staff and not the coordinators. Nick Saban is an example.

It could be a coordinator has agreed to come based on getting a certain list of position coaches.

Last year Kyle Pope was someone Key wanted but it didn't workout. Also, Key was also going to make a change at DC last year. But he chose to stick with Thacker. I don't know his guys was available or not. They might of wanted to wait and see how year one played out. But KQ said he did get names because there was really no reason after Key made decision to stick with Thacker.

If true, this is good info and answers some questions this board had about retaining Thacker. Is this per KQ or do you have another inside source?
