OU was paying Roof 1.15 million so I imagine Alley stands to make 2 to 3 times what his salary was from last year if he can leverage that much out of them. And that would still leave OU with more money to spend elsewhere.

The odds are low. It's not that if Bama wants him or not. It is the fact of his past history at Maryland makes the odds low.

This is not going to be a flashy hire. This will be a strong solid hire. Key is taking his time to make the best hire.

Yes and no. There is some coaches who hire their staff and not the coordinators. Nick Saban is an example.

It could be a coordinator has agreed to come based on getting a certain list of position coaches.

Last year Kyle Pope was someone Key wanted but it didn't workout. Also, Key was also going to make a change at DC last year. But he chose to stick with Thacker. I don't know his guys was available or not. They might of wanted to wait and see how year one played out. But KQ said he did get names because there was really no reason after Key made decision to stick with Thacker.

It’s been the story out in the public sphere for some time. Don’t know original source but accepted as gospel now.
