They could have been S Carolina banjo player.

GT connection to Deliverance. The lady who is serving the food to the guys at the end of the movie has a daughter who is a GT graduate. Seriously. The daughter graduated in about ‘72. Was a looker, too,

Another GT connection. One of the whitewater river guides was a GT grad and was in some of the river scenes.
