And what is this about the visiting fans in the upper north????? Hell put them in the upper SE so they can bake in the sun! For those of you who have never sat in the upper north I will tell you they are the best imo if you want to WATCH the game!

I agree with this. Attending games would be much, much more comfortable with actual seats--especially for the women and kids. Fan experience would improve significantly. I know it sounds whiny, but unless you sit in club section or pre-order the stinger seats, watching the games while sitting on the benches is just flat out uncomfortable. It never fails that some bonehead or relatively large human takes up their allocated seat space and half or all of mine or my wife's/kid's as well... causing my wife and I to share "seat 24", resulting in thoughts of "maybe we should watch the next one on our living room TV, while sitting on our new sectional"... We can be naïve and think that "true fans" should have no problem enduring the small space on the bench with no back rest... and I will, but the overall point is: people would have a better experience attending GT games with either (a) real seats or (b) more space, and thus, will be more likely to attend. We never sell-out, so why not.
You should try going to a game at U of Mich. You will never complain again.

I don't think we should reduce the seating at all. We don't fill every seat every game, but we do fill Grant Field regularly for the big games. Why forego the extra revenue, especially since I doubt that better seating would make much difference in attendance. Also, if any of you think the GTAA wouldn't raise ticket prices if the stadium was all seats … well, I know of an interesting bridge property in New York and we need to discuss this great investment opportunity!

I should condition this by saying that I've sat on benches at football games all my life and sitting in a seat just wouldn't seem right. True, things can get a trifle close at big games, but if I have a ticket stub, you don't get to sit in my seat. If you complain, there are always choices for you and they aren't good ones.

Something I'd love to see us do. Remove some of the seats and give us some room for better facilities, locker room, player rec area etc. We usually average around 41-45k in attendance so imagine how much better out attendance would look on tv if we took away some seats.

Maybe while they are renovating they will figure a way to open those locker rooms enough to keep the predators honest at bay. Yeah, it's a cheap shot. But PSU deserves it.

There is talk that he was railroaded and didn't do it. I think there is a chance he gets a new trial.

Yeah, right. Everything was made up and out of the blue an innocent man was railroaded. Now his son has been arrested on a similar charge. BS. JoePa was a fraud and enabler; there was a reason he removed Sandusky as coach-in-waiting, while PSU to its everlasting shame is more concerned with image than the lives of a serial predator's boy child victims. As Richard Pryor said, who are you going to believe, me or or your lying eyes? Sandusky should be wary of another trial. It was Georgia's red suspender guv who warned young son "Hummin" Talmadge to never sue the AJC for libel, else "They might prove it."

The Syracuse guy ended up not getting charged. I don't think there is any doubt about Sandusky though
I will try to keep this short. The teen in the shower said he was not molested and wrote a letter to the editor about it when Joe pa was fired, the coach that saw it wrote to the prosecutor saying that he was twisting his words, one of the lead reporters now at CNN wrote to a mother of one of the kids and said this case will close if we don't find more victims. Shortly there after three or four of his friends come forward. Police are caught on tape coaching accusers. Typically in a molestation case you'll find evidence of child porn on their computer, but there was none. The only porn was found on the prosecutors computer. A board of trustee of PSU has said there are questions about this case and should be retried. This whole case relies on the first accuser. Who an aunt, friends and girlfriend at the time say he is lying. A person started a sting op. And went to one of the lead Attorney and made up a story about being molested, but his story didn't include PSU, that attorney changed the story to include PSU. This sting op has been recorded. This was just after the catholic Church scandal so tensions were high, a news media that is out there for headlines and promotions, and a public that only read headlines. If you don't think anybody could get railroaded just remember Duke lacrosse. What caught my attention was When a board of trustee says there questions/ problems about what happen and he should get a new hearing. He even voted against the second round of payments.

I surely do. Enough to know this is what is known in political circles as a "false equivalency". One is not the other or even close.
I was not saying they are the same but just making the point people do get railroaded. I think it is a pretty big deal when a board of trustee member publicly says there some questions about what really happen.

Well, not to prolong the discussion, Paterno had a lot of supporters on the board and in fact was influential in the makeup of the board to the extent it would support his football program. It's not surprising that people in all walks of life in Pennsylvania will lean on that thin reed. Both in defending Paterno by supporting Sandusky, even after Paterno rather abruptly dumped him as coach-in-waiting, something that was never explained, and which a docile local press merely reported as a stenographer, or in defending the university's reputation. The latter took a huge hit for its cover-up and Sergeant Schultz reaction. It was humiliating. So, yeah. Somebody will climb in that boat. Somebody always does. (See UNC, Chapel Hill. Phony classes all those players were enrolled in? We knew nothing!"

Who says we would give up any revenue? If the demand is there to sell out one of those big games, you just slightly increase ticket prices to those big games. Die hard fans may not mind getting a "trifle close", but most casual fans would prefer to be comfortable at a game. Die hard fans will always show up no matter the seating configuration. GT needs to do more to improve the game day experience to draw in more casual fans.
