"Cut Block" champ. I personally don't like the name because I think it conjures up images of us cheap hitting someone. I know every team "cut blocks", but we seem to get a bad wrap for it. Parker is going to be one of the best OL Paul will have during his time at Tech. I wish they would just say Parker is a bad arse and more times than not puts his man down. End of story. Leave the term "cut block' out of it. Maybe I'm too sensitive to bad press, but it gets old to hear how we try to hurt players, end careers and so on with all the BS simply because of the way we block. THWG!! WHO RUNS THIS STATE, BITC*ES?

I think cut blocks are fine, but I don't think tackling someone is a good comparison, cut blocking can be more dangerous that tackling below the waist.

This O has been in around for decades, and it comes up here and there, but historically, I don't believe there is evidence to support the fact that more people are injured against us or the triple option than in traditional offenses.

I actually think that it protects our O-lineman because they are generally attacking and going forward instead of back pedaling, which adds the potential to be "rolled up" on.

I like Parker a lot, but he has to put on a little weight; we do drive block, you know. And he will. Then we get to see if he can still be as effective. If so, we have a potential All-ACC guard next year.

I think the cut block makes the drive block more effective. If the defender has to play the cut block it will usually put them on their heals opening the opportunity to drive block very well.

The rules for blocking in CFB are just fine the way they are now. Just as a ball carrier can be tackled low a defender can be blocked there too. The main safety issue at hand is getting blocked low from a blind side or with a double team and the rules address that just fine. I love cut blocking and think it is the bees knees. More teams don't use it like we do because it is tough to execute and teach, not because it is dirty. You try chasing an agile defender out in space and cutting him to the ground without "tackling him". It takes a lot of practice and timing.

More knees get blown out by running backs making open field cuts than by cut blocks. Even more by guys getting rolled up in a pile.

More Kentucky players got hurt from friendly fire from their own lineman falling on each other than from cut blocks today
