Thought it would be good to have a thread about the other regionals, mainly to highlight ACC teams or upsets. Here is a good link for scores, shows all the games happening so you can scan. In the early games today:

  • Coastal Carolina is murdering Vanderbilt 13-2, Bottom 8 (Clemson regional)
  • FSU and UVA already won in their home regionals
  • Evansville is beating #14 E. Carolina 2-1 in the T9
  • Duke is down 3-1 to UConn in the B7

UConn finishes off Duke 4-1, and Evansville takes down East Carolina, also by a 4-1 score. This opens the door a little wider for Wake Forest to make a return trip to a Super.

Wow. JMU was one out away, up 2, no one on from beating SCar. Hits the next batter than homerun from the next to tie it up.

The margin for error at this point in the season is very, very small.

One walk, one HBP could expedite the end to your season or end your season. Need to play accordingly.

Only 2 of the 16 regional hosts lost, 1 from Pac 12 (AZ) and East Carolina (5 SEC and 5 ACC wins). None of the top 8 National Seeds (5 SEC and 3 ACC) lost. Obviously there will be some upsets along the way but the Super Regionals certainly look like an ACC/SEC showdown. The only difference is the SEC had 4 other teams win outside the Top 16 and the ACC had none outside the Top 16.

SEC baseball is usually really good top to bottom. Sad it takes such a backseat. At least it’s not in the trunk like MBB. Ha!

South Carolina and LSU both lose to favored ACC teams in winners’ bracket games. Vanderbilt eliminated. Florida is trouble and on verge.
