Thanks for the info.
In 15 the coach for Tulane, who only had 9 men on field , made it till end of year till he got fired.

Wonder what what was so bad about BG coach?
Sure it was the won / loss record. I think he won only 7 games in two and a half seasons. Something I had forgotten, for a brief time, Bowling Green led in our game 3-0.

One thing I know for sure that come Sunday October 21st we will not be three and five.

Fumble prevention and blocking calls will be points of interest the next several days.

I know this is heretical and will be derided but I honestly would not be the least bit surprised if we do not beat Virginia Tech or at least give them a good game. It would be in keeping with Tech football tradition to do the unexpected after a devastating loss when the fan base has all but deserted the team. I have seen this happen more times than I can count in 40 plus years of watching the Jackets.

I figured the Bowling Green head coach Mike Jenks was a goner before the 2018 season started and i'm surprised it took them so long to fire him.

Probably so given his record but it is unusual for a coach to be let go in the middle of a season. There may possibly be more to this than just wins and losses such as a contentious relationship with the AD or school president.

Let’s use the bye week to get well and recover. There are a lot of us on this board who are upset and weary of the less-than-mediocre product being put on the field. Visit the grandkids. Build a model plane. Go fishing. Read a good book. Then, in two weeks, we’ll be recharged, reenergized and ready to resume where we left off!

Excellent advice but one that will be ignored by the majority of the fans on this and other sites. It is what we do.

I agree VT is beatable this season;)(y) I think VT winds up in the Pinstripe Bowl playing 6-6 Indiana:wideyed:

Critics would point out that Virginia Tech beat Duke soundly which beat us therefore Virginia Tech should beat us. Fortunately, the transitive property often does not work with college football. 18 to 21 year olds being the way they are.

Paul Johnson needs to put all his concentration into finding a way to attack a team which is using nine defenders to play the run.

Ordinarily after a bad loss I hate an off week. But this time around I'll be glad to take a break from GT football.

Well its really quite simple. Play wide receivers who can beat one on one coverage and throw the ball until they back off. This off week should be dedicated to improving the passing game in all respects including route running, passing, and pass blocking. Because we will see more 7 and 8 man fronts unless something is done about it. You can believe it.

What are thing's that really need to be addressed the most during an open week?
We then have a short week to prepare for VPSU @ their house.

First thing- fumbles.
How do teams practice holding onto the ball or better ball security.
Is it technique or just our luck with how things have gone with holding onto the ball?
Bye week = We can't lose.

If we don't see line up changes after this week off something is wrong. We are not winning the costal, were not going to a bowl game. We need to do something so we can prepare for next year.

I think CPJ will give either Cooper or Jazz Lee lots of reps at a position other than center during the off week. I suspect CPJ thinks both of those guys are in the top 5 on the OL talent-wise, and it's always a good idea to have your best 5 starting on that unit.

The Off week won't make PJ any smarter. Why would you have a TRUE FR run back ANY KOs when you can get the ball at 25 for FREE? To go with other tactical errors, amazing. How does 4-8 sound?
