Don't know how this turned into a comparison? The point was they played great together...the benefit was greater than the sum of the parts... Work in progress this year...

Shaq and its not even close. We didn't have Smelter in the Orange Bowl, or the second half against the dwags. Shaq was dominant in those marquee wins last year.

Not going to argue that he isn't fast. I just don't think Johnson was much better/faster. Definitely not enough to be considered the "one guy" who this team misses the most, which is what this thread was about.

We have no tacklers in the secondary, we have ankle grabbers that hold on for dear life. We give up 3-5 yards every run because of that. Johnson could and would lay the wood on someone, and If you think Shaq is gonna make that much of a difference in a current situation on O then I cant agree with you, because the one person he blocks is not gonna make up for every other missed block we always seem to have this season. Shaq was a beast but him playing on this years O is just like Gotsis playing on this years D he cant do it all no matter how good he is.

Guess we will just have to agree to disagree. That guaranteed 3-4 yards following Shaq has a much bigger impact than the 3-4 yards. Imo the drop off from Nealy to Marcordes is so much more significant than Johnson to Golden. The Mike LB is everything in our D.

With Shaq our our 3 and longs turn into 3rd and shorts. Then with Shaq our 3rd and shorts turn into 3rd and Shaq.

Either guy would be a huge asset. Imagine if we had both.
