The Chase Lane media is such a brilliant way to bring attention to the player personalities while showcasing just how competent these Tech kids are.

On display is Key’s/Tech’s development of the STUDENT athlete - something being forgotten today.

A perfect brand recognition and grounding of a sport in cultural turmoil.

To beat a dead horse - I think this GT aspect is kept alive by Key, or at least far more than the previous.

Chase definitely has a future in broadcasting! These shorts are so well done. Also Tech putting these out, along with other networking connections, has already landed him a spot on the local news! This kind of thing needs to be a part of the recruiting pitch.

I remember the story of Brent Key recruiting him, where in the middle of the conversation CBK stepped away to take a quick phone call while Chase continued speaking to another coach.

2 minutes later Key came back and said something to the effect of, "That was just the head of Turner Broadcasting - that's their office out the window right there. I just called him to mention you and your podcast and that you wanted to get into the broadcasting world. We have a really good relationship - he said he'll keep an eye out for you."

A year later, and Chase has a gig with 11Alive. Seems like we're keeping our promises and introducing these young men to opportunities they wouldn't have anywhere else.

If GT goes to b1g at 50% min payout and incentives for tv viewership iwhat we have now with up side. I think ATL viewer ship is a big potential for b1g and gt

How many will make the 53 man roster? How many will make game day rosters? How many will be impact players? How many will get a 2nd NFL contract? Those are the criteria for having success in the NFL. Of that group only Waller answers the mail on all counts.

Valid questions for any school on the list. But let's undermine GT first, right?

Wouldn't say Tyler is an impact player, but he's entering his 5th year in the league and just signed his 3rd contract with Green Bay.

Edit to add: If any school can toot their horn about impact TEs in the NFL, it's Iowa. No one else comes close.

First you have to take the list as credible. Second our TEs have done little at GT. Now when we get 5 top 100 draft picks in a 2-3 year period we know things have changed for GT football. This list is fools gold.

Yea we have 5 on Spring rosters. Hope they all make at least the Practice Squads or better. TEs do make good ST players. With the NFL’s new kickoff format it will be interesting to see how that impacts the position’s value. Hard to say now what the impact will be on the position.
