Interesting read on how Vandy can compete on the level of Stanford/Baylor/Northwestern...oddly enough, GT hardly ever gets mentioned when discussing the "smart school" set even though a case can be made that GT is probably the most consistent and successful "smart school" the last 20+ years. GT gets mentioned twice: 1 for playing Vandy, the other because of fan demographics to UGA. Odd, because Vandy and GT compete for the same type of SAs.

Also some insight on how Stanford is able to recruit so well given their high barrier to entry from THE person who heads up Stanford's recruiting.

“Every applicant from Andrew Luck to Richard Sherman to Christian McCaffrey has to go through the steps and go through the bona fides the same as anyone else in their high school. They must take multiple advance placement classes in their senior year,” Eubanks said.

I am not sure I would put Baylor in the same academic air as the others. Nonetheless, there is a big difference between these schools and us. Our curriculum is significantly more narrow.

We're starting to have a drought here in SE Tennessee and it doesn't look good for this Summer.
Too bad we don't have the technology to transfer water from inundated areas of the country to parched ones. Houston would be more than happy to pass you guys a few million gallons right about now.
