GT is going to win this game. ND will be good, but GT will be really good next year. JHD is eligible (name it, claim it) and JT will be a boss. Andrews, Snoddy, Searcy will be our main AB's and one of the Freshmen WR's is going to be the next NFL caliber WR.

Our secondary is incredible and our LB's are going to be good as well.

This is the game where GT will make a statement and win by 3 touchdowns! Mark it down!
Gotta love it.

......And of course they had to preview our uniforms...

For the women readers probably. :cautious:

Very good read. This is definitely the biggest game in our first 3. More important games next year (to me) are Fluke (search, destroy and ruin their lives), Clemson, FSU, VT and UGAg. Plus the ACCCG and Orange Bowl.

But ND is the first real team we play so we'll see where we are. I'm glad they come early to help focus the team and get ready for ACC play.

That was a better, more researched, write up than any of the espn, cbs, et al pre season stories I have read. Good find - thanks.

My takeaway is that no matter how thoroughly you research a cfb article, unless you follow a team as intensely as we do, you miss some insights. Specifically, our expectation of a vastly improved D. This article evaluates (forecasts) ND's O against last years D. Man, if our D really toughens up against the run and puts some pressure on the qb as we expect, look out!

With that said, new B backs, WRs and to a lesser extent A backs, well.....

wow, from the comments on that article, it seems this is one opponent who has fans who actually respect us.

There have been games in the past where not one player on Georgia Tech would have been able to get a scholarship to Notre Dame. Those days are thankfully gone forever. We still will not match their quantity of talent, but we will be competitive. We certainly are capable of winning this game.

We get two warm ups while they have to ignore the triple option prep facing Texas and UVA. I like our chances. Charley Strong has all fall camp to focus on Notre Dame, so Brian Kelly know he has to be ready. Virginia has done okay against high profile opponents early in the year like UCLA and BYU. They will play Notre Dame tough. Then here we come with our quirky offense and a supercharged quarterback. Lots of pressure on Notre Dame ever since Bama wiped the floor with them. This sets up well for us.

Just barely on topic, but where does the bad blood between CPJ and BVG come from? The year he coached Southern, dissed all the traditions and had a wretched season? Did he say the wrong thing during his brief spell at UGA? Or just 'cause he coached at UGA? Anyone know?

Apropos of absolutely nothing, save object lessons for ADs and coaches who might be egomeisters, just read that Charlie Weis, drawing his second welfare check from Kansas after riding New England's success to big college contracts, is getting about $27 million from Notre Dame. Wish they had called. I was perfectly willing to screw them up for half of that.

Ok write-up, hard to ignore 9th in US with 14 starters incl best QB in ACC coming back.
Otoh--did not mention WRs at all-which will prob be our biggest problem if Andrews is ok
uniforms?--PLEEEEZE!
