With CPJ, QB'ing was a bit of an acquired taste. No one is going to mistake Tevin Washington for an athletic freak, and he might have had the weakest arm in all of college football, but that guy could run CPJ's offense. It was a joy to watch him flummox future NFL defenders. Nesbitt to me was like a good bourbon. Sit back, and feel the burn slowly envelope you on the way down. Man do I miss watching Nesbitt operate the midline and QB follows. I've never felt more sure of anything than Nesbitta and crew converting a 3rd/4th and short. Money! There were instances with JeT and Vad that we got a glimpse of what the offense could do if there was an elite level passer AND athlete running the offense.

With Coach P's offense, I think our QBs will run more than people suspect, but our passing game will be more developed than what people think. Passing with Coach P's offense will be what blocking with CPJ's offense was. Subtle adjustments that sets up big plays. It's going to force us to familiarize ourselves with various passing concepts that's popular today...and that's fun if you're an X's and O's fan. QB's and skill players have broken records everywhere Coach P has gone, so while we may be trading in the machine that was CPJ's running offense, we're going to get a different flavor with Coach P's offense. I know our QBs and skill players are excited...we should be as well. It's a new learning curve for players and fans.

I agree, and I think re-training the OL won’t be as bad as people think either. I think it’s much easier going from run centered blocking to balanced than the other way around like CPJ did his first year.

I tend to agree but simply don’t know how good our OL talent is. I expect Key will get as much as possible out of them just don’t know how much that will be.

To be honest I don’t know how he will fare in this kind of offense but you are probably right. This is the biggest concern I have for the season. It seems like there are ways to try to cover for weaknesses in other groups but I don’t know what you do if you can’t run your offense.

yep, it's good that we have mobile QBs because ,at first anyway,they could be running for their lives

Again, I don't get all this angst about the OL. First, they're too small. Then we see the results of the off-season workouts. Then they'll be worse because Parker left. Well, he would have made them better, no doubt, and his leaving is a major lose. Otoh, we have several starters coming back and there's no reason to think they can't block. Like some analysts said when Coach took over, if you can block for the spread option, then blocking for the shotgun is risibly easy.

Personally, I'm a lot more worried about the DL then the OL. As has been the case for some time now, the question marks are on D, not O. Let's hope that having a defensive specialist as head coach will make a difference in that. It had better.
