Bring back Jon Tenuta
I thought Jon's gambling defense would have been a perfect fit with Paul's ball-control offense. Loads of experience but he might be retired. Didn't coach last year:If Paul Johnson had kept him as defensive coordinator when we hired him, Johnson would have won a nat'y
All the good defensive coordinators already have jobs. This is very bad timing with signing day 4 days away.
Oh.you’re serious? We have a very young defensive staff that would benefit greatly from Jon Tenuta as co defensive coordinator for one year.
What is it with fans of this program and the infatuation of bringing back coaches from years, sometimes decades ago? Why don’t we dig up Heisman while we’re at it and get the biomed kids to reanimate him. The game has changed significantly. Key and his staff will find the right candidate for the future of Georgia Tech football - and hopefully it won’t be a 70 year old who had success with the program 20 years ago.
Check the other thread…already happened!Mind if I clip 'n save this post for whoever has the courage or audacity to suggest Ted Roof? I know it's coming...

I know I only went to Southern Tech so not as smart as most on here (but I believe you would promote someone (Jess Simpson) and hire a LB coach. We will probably have to hire someone that's already on staff.
I had to suffer thru the BC game where Matt Ryan picked the Tenuta defense apart. And that was a pretty "traditional" offense. Now image RPO and zone read and all the new schemes that are taking over...a zone blitzing scheme might be the worst possible tactic against current offenses. Tenuta was a good DC, but between his tactical limitations and his infamously *****ly demeanour, the game has left him in the past...Oh.you’re serious?
Sorry, but the game has left Tenuta behind. His last couple of gigs as DC his defenses got eaten alive.
