Lots of stories of dysfunctional relationships between the UNC AA and their board. One story is that the AD fired Brown because the board wanted him for one more year

Anyway, one more story about maybe they’ve made an offer to Belichick:

The entire search process has been hilarious to watch unfold. Nobody is aligned, and they have been drumming up ole Bill as a way to draw "star power" interest in the vacancy. It has failed spectacularly to the point that they are almost forced to hire Bill now or start begging people to apply for the HC job. The number of talented names they have ran off from this job is amazing.
TFG is probably still available. Has P4 experience. Just ask him.

Sorry, my idea of discussion does not involve name calling, smugness, belittling people with different ideas, or threats of violence. I don’t care what you call that, it’s not for me.

Spunds good in theory, but I can't see there being enough time to digest all of what he'll want to do.

Will he, like Charlie Weiss, have a decided tactical advantage too?

Right. The big difference he will run into is limited practice time.
But he does have a few things going for him that previous nfl guys didn’t.

1.) NIL- fast turnover and makes roster building much faster while you get your recruiting bearings. You can also build your ideal defense by player type
2.) in helmet communication- much easier to relay info to QB or D captain
3.) the foregone conclusion that nobody is there to play school

"Imagine the kind of privileged bubble you’d have to live in to be able to convince yourself that, after firing a genial 73-year-old coach, who seemed to be losing his grasp on the rapidly changing world of college football, a surly, 72-year-old coach with little or no grasp on college football is the right guy to replace him."

The difference is Mack Brown has scruples and Belechik has none. He will poach more players than Kiffin.
