Ok, then I’ll state it like this. The postseason started and ended (under the NCAA’s decision) without us playing in it. Again, we satisfied the requirements. We don’t have any control over how long the postseason lasts.

Except that we revenue share the proceeds from the NCAAT. We get hit as well & Lord knows we’re in terrible financial shape.

March madness generates, at this point, $850 million for the NCAA which is the biggest revenue stream by far.
I can't imagine what it would be like if this had occurred two months earlier and the 4 team NCAA football championship
and the Super Bowl were cancelled.

Apparently this is a huge loss for the gambling community. March Madness is the biggest gambling event of the year (almost $500M was wagered last year with gambling organizations earning $70M off of it, the Super Bowl is 2nd with $151M in bets and $30M to gambling organizations). Not only do they lose all that, they have to refund every bet made on it since the conclusion of last year's NCAA Tournament in April 2019 since it was cancelled rather than postponed.

yup and that trickles down and hurts guys like me who write at least one wagering preview a day for 4flush, Spooky Express, and US Gambling. My current task list is completely empty and we have nothing to write about other than ESports or Casino strategy. This sucks

You could write about the Bitcoin crash and the effects it has on E-betting. Since they go hand in hand.

I would be really curious to know what the NCAA contracts with the TV networks have for an "act of God" clause. My bet (since we are talking about gambling) is that the NCAA is going to get paid a large percentage of what they would have been paid anyway based on the Act of God clause and that the networks will recoup a large portion of their expense via insurance (you have to figure they have insurance on these contracts). Someone over the next week or two will dig into the details and figure out exactly how the money flows work - and how they may have affected the decision processes.
