The only time you stop a game in those conditions is if you're down to Wake by 10 and there's a lightning strike somewhere within 100 mi of Atlanta!Should have stopped it earlier. The field was slop.

Blah, blah, blah ... 9 runs is pretty damn disappointing...
That pitcher was impressive, especially for a freshman. Kept the ball down and did not let some dirt balls bother him. 6 innings and 3 runs against us is a good evening of work. The rain delay took the air out of the stadium. It was a good move by ok to keep badgering the officials to stop the game. Lost over half the crowd and kept us from blowing them out.
Have to credit that starter for ok, he pretty much shut us down for almost 6 innings. I hope the bats come alive, 9 runs is pretty damn disappointing. The bottom of the line up plus Lackey seem to be the only ones pulling on the rope.
Disagree…the OK coach lobbied for stopping it, but th eumps checked the mound, decided it was still safe for pitching, and said “go”. They (Oklahoma’s Coach) was just trying to kill our momentum and that’s playing games (the wrong kind)….Should have stopped it earlier. The field was slop.
You have to have a bit of empathy for them. They've only got Mississippi, Louisiana & New Mexico keeping them out of last place when you rank the states.
Well being there it was raining very hard. It is not just the playing surface but also the ability to grip the ball for both the pitcher and people fielding the ball. Glad they let it go on but I can definitely see the other side. Most importantly we won and our relief staff is in great shape for Game 6 and if needed Game 7Disagree…the OK coach lobbied for stopping it, but th eumps checked the mound, decided it was still safe for pitching, and said “go”. We're averaging almost 11 runs per game. It doesn't take a GT grad to know that 9 is a lot less than 11I am assuming you typed this with a straight face 33. As they say, what a time to be alive!!!!!!![]()
You are greedy my friend. A win is good enough for me!We're averaging almost 11 runs per game. It doesn't take a GT grad to know that 9 is a lot less than 11![]()
This team’s the equivalent of the 2014 football offense Johnson assembled. Every play got executed well. With our offense you just expect scoring every damn inning and when we don’t score, it’s pretty disappointing. 10 runs is the floor for an average day. Call me spoiled, but Ramsey and the boys did this to me. IIWII.You are greedy my friend. A win is good enough for me!![]()
Exactly. I would have done the same and am pretty damn sure Ramsey would have been even more animated than the Oklahoma coach had the situation been reversed. You don't ever want your pitcher trying to throw a wet baseball in a down pour in the crucial moments of a game, especially a playoff game. I was surprised the game was not stopped at that point but very thankful it was not.Well being there it was raining very hard. I have to admit that when the score was 3-2, 3-3 and even 5-3 us the thought crossed my mind that this what every game must feel like for a fan of the ordinary team playing in the tournament. This team’s the equivalent of the 2014 football offense Johnson assembled. We need to get use to that feeling... unfortunately??I have to admit that when the score was 3-2, 3-3 and even 5-3 us the thought crossed my mind that this what every game must feel like for a fan of the ordinary team playing in the tournament.![]()
Some enterprising individual(s) should crank up their sound system and cue up the Budweiser song during the 7th inning stretch. The NCAA are a bunch of idiots.
I presume they are also the reason we can’t play the Budweiser song during the regionals.
Maybe they should be able to determine what they sell at concessions as well?????
This goes back to my comment above. If we win every single one of our remaining games this season by 1 run I would be a very happy camper! We need to get use to that feeling... unfortunately??
Only good teams remain... with good rosters & deep(er) pitching staffs... & coaches who understand how to optimize what they have.

What would your mindset be as a UCLa fan - A) we have proven ourselves to be clutch in late innings so that just helps us as we get deeper into the tournament (IF we get deeper in the tournament)? or B) this **** won't last. We have dodged too many bullets already?? I usually lean towards the optimistic take on things (the first choice) but this one is tough for me to call.We need to get use to that feeling... unfortunately??

Dwag message board was concerned about their game being really close last night as well.I have to admit that when the score was 3-2, 3-3 and even 5-3 us the thought crossed my mind that this what every game must feel like for a fan of the ordinary team playing in the tournament.![]()
The bold part made me want to go to waffle house.I told my buddy it was just a matter of time before the runs start coming. At the end of the day, Oklahoma is still a good team...GT is just playing on an ELITE level right now so the expectations are a bit heightened with respect to our offense. All the momentum was shifting towards GT, and even OU's coach knew it and tried to snuff out the inning with a weather delay. He got his wish...just after we poured some runs on before they called it.
I think that was because he was a bit shaky his last two outings and CJR wanted him to get his confidence back. Based on how Loy walked of the mound and the end of the game I would say it worked and Loy has his head right. On the pitching side was surprised Loy was who we went to for the last 2 innings.
