Based on what? I see no factual basis for this assertion. Like everybody else I am not happy with the season but I highly doubt CPJ has lost his intensity, if anything I think this type of season heightens it.
Lol wasn't another troll complaining in a different thread about how he didn't like CPJ because he was too intense and yelled at players?

Because the correct players are blocked on the play.
Exactly. They are getting blocks from the O line and the wideouts/Abacks. We don't. Thus Thomas is, as the man said, "bowing" back from the LOS, which drives Johnson nuts.

Their first 3 B backs average 250 lbs. If they want to get their B back on the edge, their next 2 backs are smaller and faster. Their linemen drive through their blocks and can pass block. Overall, their talent looks better and more flexible than ours.

Navy doesn't have more talent than us. Are they more efficient at running the TO than us this year? Sure. More talented man for man? Hell No!

As I said earlier, the Mids have some horses at BB and we don't. That hurts and it is the first year where that can be said of us. Result = a pretty bad year. But …

The guys who would have started at BB for us this year are sitting on the bench with injuries and will be recovered and a year bigger and stronger next year. And we got our #1 target at BB in this class coming in. And MLD will be moving back. We're going to be loaded - and with talent - at that position next year. I foresee great things - well, ok, maybe just good things - from that.

Will be interesting to see how our stable of running backs plays out next year. Could eventually lose some to transfers once the two deep and playing time gets set.

I think others may be onto something with regards to TM.....might be headed to QB next year.

They did report that Byerly has requested a sixth year. It's going to get awful crowded next year at qb.

I hope he gets it but it probably is a bit iffy. If he does come back I hope Johnson gives him reps in meaningful games with meaningful series. I have wondered since the Orange Bowl why Byerly, a loyal trouper as a sidekick to the star, not only got no meaningful game time but none at all. It just made no sense to me, and doesn't even now. There was no indication, ever, of an injury, and none since. But I also wondered in that time why the intrepid AJC reporters and columnists never asked what seemed to me to be a reasonable question: why in a rout your no. 2 never got into the game? I mean, it was the Orange Bowl after all.

JeT
Byerly
Jordan
Campbell
Taquan Marshall
Ratliffe* (Pending medical clearance)

3 of the 6 are probably going to play other positions to contribute immediately, 1 of the 6 is still a question mark.

I'm interested in seeing what Taquan will do at QB. CPJ must have seen something he really likes to move him there from AB.

Don't think that Byerly is a sure thing. We can hope. But if he gets another year, it's hard to see Jordan, Campbell and Marshall in a log jam behind Thomas and Byerly. (I don't project on Ratliffe because I don't think there is any way he can or should play.) In my mind I see Jordan, Campbell and Marshall -= if he moves -- fighting for 3 deep, and everybody else back to Aback. Probably including the 3deep winner. It would be nice to have some depth there, though. It surely would be a first for Johnson at Tech.

I recall CPJ commenting on T Marshall likely getting a look at QB. Has he made comments on multiple occasions?

He's mentioned multiple times that one of the ABs will get a look at QB, and he's said (paraphrasing here) "I'm not sure Taquan isn't a QB before it's all said and done".

I think CPJ wants to see more competition at QB, and I think Ratliffe's situation may have changed the calculus on the QBs. I'm not 100% sure the staff is comfortable with what they've seen from the guys behind JeT. I mean, when Vad and JeT came in, there was no doubt what position they were playing, and we heard a lot of good things about them behind the scenes.

I say, let them all compete, and their play will separate them. JeT still has one year, but we still have to develop for the future beyond him.

I wondered the same thing at the time and every time I think of Byerly since the OB. Could easily been put in last series as clock ran down. At least Tim could say he was on the field. Tim has really been a team player. I wish him the best.
