Matthew Jordan link ".. 'needs to take Tim Byerly’s role before Timmy got hurt a year ago,' said Johnson."

Good or bad, Jordan appears to have lost weight since last season; he was listed at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds last season but is listed at 208 pounds on the updated roster.

I'm excited to see MJ this spring. QBs have taken a pretty good leap their 2nd year playing in CPJ's system.

Jordan has the quickness and running ability. I have no idea what his passing game looks like at this level, but if he can provide a credible throwing threat, I suspect will be pretty dangerous as a player.

Like I keep saying, he has the main qualification: he can run. All the rest is gravy.

When he takes over next year - and I expect him to - we'll look more the Nesbitt teams. I just hope Jordan can get to a 90% Nesbitt level by then.

Nesbit was a bull. Paul got so luck having him as the first QB. He made a lot out of nothing so many times during that first year. Him and Jonathan were ideal for the first year of that offense. If he hadn't regressed so badly in the passing game, he could have put Ham like numbers.

This might be a little off topic but if the majority of the players can stay healthy (knock on wood) I think this could be a special year. We have so much talent in so many positions. I love the model of using MJ in goal line situations. JT isn't exactly suited for that.

Young team but if the O-Line can step their game up a bit and WR and A-backs do their part this team could make it to the ACC Championship.

The passing was certainly Nesbitt's weak point. He had such a strong arm too.

I believe he could be a 50%+ passer in this system, which is rare as hens teeth.

I hope he's as good in goal line situations as Byerly. I actually felt more confident with Byerly under center from the 1 than JeT.

First, I agree, I did too, second this is what paul is saying, short yardage runner/specialty. Matt looks bigger than 208 to me. I think he will be the Rebel specialist....

I feel like we ran the midline with Jordan more in the Miami game than we ran it the rest of the year combined (and with some good success). I have a feeling that this is something Johnson is hoping that Jordan can bring to the table apart from possibly goal line type situations.

They have him on a diet and workout program, he is smaller than 208 actually (just a little).

It's pretty impressive that he is losing healthy weight and still gearing up for the season. He has Type 1 Diabetes so I'm sure he is working very closely with the training staff to make sure he is being healthy about it.

Nesbitt was a high level athlete playing QB. A lot of people thought he would have been an All ACC safety had he played there. Remember, he made the Buffalo Bills roster as a Safety.

I think MJ isn't the battering ram Nesbitt is (yet), but I think he'll be a better passer than JfN. MJ is going to be a very good QB for us barring injury IMHO.
