The word "fledgling" says everything about the state of our basketball program. Exactly six NCAA tournament games since Hewitt's final four team (almost 21 seasons) and 13 NCAA tournament games since Cremins retired.

Program is 11-18 in the ACC Tournament over the past 20 years (with 1 title and 1 COVID cancellation). In 12 of the 18 years with a loss the Jackets were one and done. Sadly in only three of the 20 years saw our guys with a first round bye.

This is not meant to be a doom and gloom post, merely a statement of facts (which cannot be denied)

A must-win. The top 15 teams of 18 total from regular season play earn postseason bids to the 2025 ACC Men's basketball tournament. We are 15th now with the same number ACC wins as VT. The weather in ATL may be an issue for on-site fans tonight as well.

Team, certainly gutted it out, no pun intended about the Lance Terry situation.

Being undermanned and individuals having to play a lot of minutes, so glad that the team could get the VICTORY!

Great win!! Our best defensive effort I’ve seen Tech play this year. Ndongo’s steal and dunk was the play of the game. Impressive victory given the number of key players who were out tonight.
