Were they pushed onto the coaching version of a transfer portal?
Colorado head football coach Deion Sanders knew that his team’s success this season was going to lead to some of his assistants getting attention from other programs.

Both are taking the same positions at Miss State, who was in the SEC cellar. Colorado was a top 25 team (by the voters, not the advanced stats). This seems less than a lateral move, despite what Sanders said.
Good summary. I believe much of the issue with lack of takeaways was our inability to pressure opposing QBs. We were way low in the rankings on sacks generated. QBs had time to either find a receiver, run with the ball or throw the ball away. That results in very few interceptions. Fumbles recovered are somewhat random.
Will we have a DL individual who can create havoc by himself? Unknown. We blitzed more than I have seen in a long time in the Bowl Game. That may be more common next year. A second year in the scheme should help.
King's health is a huge question. There is no question he was not as capable throwing the ball much of this season as compared to last season. We really have no idea how serious or fixable his shoulder injury is.
If we keep the coaching staff on offense and defense together that bodes well for next season. The Spring Portal window will be a potential challenge as well as an opportunity.
On defense, we’re 73rd in points per game at 25.6. In penalty yardage, were the 9th best with 40.3 yards/game.
Alabama is #1 in turnovers recovered at 2.3/game. We’re #123 at 0.8/game. BYU gets 1.7 interceptions/game, we get 0.4 (#123).
We are #36 in first downs, and #42 in yardage. That’s fairly stingy, except where it counts (points).
We’re also #123 in sacks/game at 1.3 (we’re technically tied for #119). Ole Miss gets 4.5/game. #25 Clemson gets 2.8/game.
Coverage didn’t look great to me this year. I saw a lot of defensive backs with their backs to the QB when the pass was thrown. I haven’t seen any reason to believe that the front 6 is weaker than the backfield. If the secondary is lights out, you get coverage sacks (or the QB runs a lot). I think we have room to improve across the board.
All of these play off of each other. Better coverage leads to more sacks. More pressure leads to fewer completions and more interceptions (and makes your coverage look better). More team speed makes it harder for the QB to scramble for 15 yards.
I wouldn’t focus directly on turnovers; create havoc and the turnovers will come. Pass defense needs to be more aggressive, and the front 6 needs to bring chaos.
