Those folks don't 1) look at the roster; and 2) understand the importance of experience, particularly at certain positions. OL is a prime example, and there is no group that is more important. With Quinney and DeFoor moving on, we are very young. Collins declined to take the Johnson OL commits his first recruiting year and we signed Zero guys. So we are looking at Fr for these positions, even though some are second year. Otherwise, Cooper hasn't played in 2 years (and may not be 100%), and Cochran is new to the program, even if he is a grad.

Yes, the OL guys we need are on campus, but you don't win with first and second year guys at these positions. You can somewhat predict the success of an offense based on the number of guys starting on the OL who have been in a program for 4 or 5 years. We aren't there yet.
We have more than enough talent and experience on the OL for a great OL coach to make them serviceable. Nobody is asking for greatness. Just try to look like you belong out there.

Exactly, hence the 7 year commitment really being key. We already saw flashes of what CGC and co’s recruiting can bring with their only class being true freshman. The 2021 class looks solid and 2022 is off to a crazy start, the future is looking bright, and these transfers should help a ton in the meantime
10 out of 22 enrollees committed to the new staff for the 2019 class, so there are some third year guys (true sophomores and RS freshmen) that are "CGC's" guys. 15 of 27. Not disagreeing with you, I was just curious about that distribution. This year will be the first full offseason/preseason where we aren't installing 100% brand new things or adjusting to a global pandemic, so I think we'll see a lot of development going into the fall.

Look at the roster and defend your opinion. You can't, and you cite no facts to support your opinion.

DeFoor and Quinney aren't back. We had zero OL recruits in the 2019 class. Johnson left no OL guys behind that are suitable to play OT, and not much at C and OG. If you think good offenses are built around first and second year OL, you haven't followed P5 football in detail or for very long. The pervasive idea on this board that a "great coach" can make up huge gaps in talent, experience and/or physical maturity is just plain wrong.

There is a website that predicts starters for teams. It has Minihan ( I believe we were his only P5 offer) starting at C and G, and Williams (a second year player) starting at both tackles. That's obviously not going to happen, but it points out how little talent and experience we have. You call that "more than enough talent and experience"?

Maybe you think Key has eligibility left.

If that website showed Williams starting at both OT, then they did not include the transfer who was rated the 2nd best LT in the SEC his last year.

Ok. Cochran is a clear upgrade at LT and is an NFL prospect. Presumably his backup will be Kirby, another NFL prospect. These aren't young guys. At Center we will have Minihan who did relatively well with the position last year and has plenty of experience. Im not sure why his offer sheet matters to you at this point. At RT we will have Williams. A talented kid with a full year of experience and an extra offseason of work under his belt. RG is an SEC transfer who has now started 29 games in the SEC and ACC. Its a little unclear what will happen at LG. Maybe Kirby slides over. Aside from those guys mentioned we have another SEC transfer, a 5th year senior, and plenty of younger guys who will now have multiple years in the system. That is plenty for Key to work with to make them a serviceable unit. If it is impossible to get them to even be a mediocre OL then im not sure what the point in bringing in all of these transfers was. Most of them won't be here next year.
