King and Pyron platooning against UGA?

Then couldn’t Philo just take his RS next year as he sits behind King again? None of this makes sense, and I’m very skeptical that any of it is true. I’ve got a feeling Philo plays tonight

Because I think Philo will be QB 2 next year and play in more than 4 games…

No Shade on Philo, but Sellers (USCe QB) is a Frosh, and much better than Philo..
He is from Florence SC and barring an injury isn't going anywhere...Hence not opening a spot in the QB
So you are saying that there are other QBs out there better than our second or third team QB????? Surely you can not be serious? This is an outrage!!!

If your QB2 is playing in more than 4 games then your starter either isn’t playing well or he’s been hurt, or both. The only reason a backup plays for a successful team is in blowouts, and if that’s the case it’s pretty easy to manage 4 games.
Pyron has played in more than 4 games this year. I imagine they will have packages for Philo next year to bring him along steady

Yes, he certainly could. But … I don't know if King will stick around. Then, of course, there's young master Adamson to consider …

Pyron already used a RS and was brought in for package sets that are very different than how King plays. Not really the case for Philo when compared to a healthy King.

Line has gradually come down to 17.5 over the week, but has stayed stagnant since this “news” has broke. I doubt KQ knows more than the Vegas folks
But even after the S.I. article appears the line holds steady at 17.5. Maybe handicappers have more faith in King/Pyron at QB than we do?

Ehh the line can definitely change when injury news comes out/changes but I think this line has simply moved in which ever way Vegas has determined for money reasons. Trying to get more money in on uga at the lower line to hedge the large amount that was probably placed on tech when the lines opened. For example, I saw 75%+ money on tech earlier this week.

I'm okay with Philo redshirting. If we lose the game with Philo playing, everyone's gonna Monday morning QB and say we should've saved the redshirt. This is thinking more for the long term of the program instead of getting that instant gratification. And you know what, what if the situation is that in 2028, he guides the team to win the ACC and lands us a spot in the playoffs?

I have a guy close to the Prince Avenue program. Philo isn’t going anywhere and we have a pipeline for years to come. The parents love Key

I've heard that all year as well. Philo and his family love Key and GT. If anything, it would be Key pushing Philo to redshirt to preserve a full year for his sake. If Philo plays tonight, it's because Philo and his family told Key "F$ck the redshirt, I want to beat UGA!"

Some of you need to step away from the computer...

Even though I’m not the biggest fan of Kelly Quinlan, I have a hunch that there is some truth to what was leaked. I suspect that Haynes King has improved more than some would have expected. Perhaps he was given a medrol dose pack or a steroid injection in the shoulder so he can gut out one last game before shutting it down for a while. Just my uninformed speculation, though.

So if we are going to hold Philo's RS and King is going to shut it down after tonight, we playing the bowl game with Pyron and Rhodes?

Retitled. It was “Philo hitting the Portal?”.

I didn’t read the original forum post by Quinlan.
@CPJacket did you have any reason for your original title?
The title was actually a question. I was getting blown up by friends who saw and were wondering. So, I posed the question. With the injury situatio at QB, seems odd not to go with Philo here. I understand the redshirt situation but you better have a guarantee (whatever that is) that Philo is locked in. This ain't your granddaddy's CFB! There's nothing keeping thses kids loyal.
