Whoever our QB is, I worry about them getting killed back there when we play@ Clemson. CBK will flat earn his salary over the next few yrs both recruiting and coaching, all IMO of course. I expect the offense to be descent the last 1/2 of season, but we'll see.

All our coaches need to earn their pay. We gave a long contract in order to build it from the ground up. I think we will be competitive from the jump because we have some players and outside of Clemson and UGA the rest of our schedule is full of mediocrity. But that doesn’t mean this isn’t a total rebuild for every position group. Winning 5-8 games is nice but I believe our staff knows it will take a while to build ourselves out of mediocrity into the double digit win area. Our staff is full of eager guys looking to prove themselves. Our entire coaching staff (outside of Marco) are in their prime and they are coaching for future opportunities. It’s going to be fun watching the build.

One thing is certain: Coach will pick a QB. He will not win the Heisman this year. People will say, QB X would have done better than QB Y. Arguments will ensue. Not a damn thing will change. Coach will put the guy he thinks is best for the job out there & will replace him if somewhere down the line he thinks otherwise.

I hope Coach is able to make a great choice. It is why we hired him. For the others not selected, I hope they fill a needed role be it back up or another position.

I expect 50 percent pass. We are telling recruits we are going to sling it. I think we will, even if it is dink and dunk at first.
Were I a great RB or potentially so, why would I go to an offense that throws the ball half the time? Now he is a blocker 30-40% of the plays, maybe run an occasional route, and shares the few running plays with other backs. You know, kind of like the A backs of the recent past.

Because throwing 50% of the time still leaves like 450 rushing attempts on the season which is more than enough for running backs to get theirs. The aback comment is just nonsense. Our abacks were lucky if they got 50 carries on the year. There is no comparison.

We should run the plays that work. This balance BS harkens back to Gailey’s inept offenses. I’ll never forgot how it took Gailey a whole half against Tulsa to realize we didn’t need to pass at all. PJ Daniels could’ve easily broken ELIs record in that game.

If were carving up a team through the air keep throwing if were gashing a team on the ground keep rushing.

Plus, most teams throw a lot. Some folks on here are gonna have a hard time adjusting if they still think we are gonna run 65 or 70 percent of the time. There may be individual games where we have to go run heavy, but we are gonna throw the ball.

Also, we will have short flair or inside passes to the talented rb.

The blocking and pass receptions are important to the coaches . If u cant do these well, the defense will be waiting on the run.

Imo, we will have 60 /40 r p with lots of short p to rb. The ol and lack if experienced qb necessitates this in early 19.

Ah, you're right. The guys he is trying to recruit never blocked a lick in their lives. No comparison.
