After reading 139 or so posts, he is either leaving or he is not. I don't have any idea either way
Thanks for your insightful response! All of your well documented and sourced discussions really made me rethink my assessment.I'm sorry but your assessment is completely wrong.
^This.I love my job and my company but if someone came to me with an offer somewhere else I would at LEAST listen. And if the offer was super competitive I would probably have a discussion with my company about it.
My guess is they reached out to Batt and he and his agent said sure I'll hear you out, which he would be dumb not to at least listen. Then he went to PAC and let him know about the discussion and likely is negotiating terms of his contract at Tech. As an employee not tied to the school he would be dumb not to at least entertain any offer that comes his way and take advantage of it to improve his current situation.
While South Carolina has spoken with/interviewed Batt, sources indicate to GamecockCentral.com that he is not at the top of the list in this process.
Adding it all up, he does not seem as likely at this point to be the guy in Columbia.
How has anything been established that J Batt plays footsie with a paycheck? I believe Quinlan said that Batt isn't interested. Another site just posted that USCe talked to Batt, but that he is not a top target.Quinlan hasn’t been right about GT in a long time.
Even if he stays, he’s now been established as a guy who plays footsie with a paycheck. Those things need to be kept confidential so that kind of damage is not done. Who leaked this? 10:1 it has ties to UGAg.
Different is not better, or even right. It’s a different culture today. People who take on “impossible” challenges now are referred to as suckers and losers.
My issue is not that it was done, but that it was public.^This.
I worked as a headhunter for a number of years, and this is exactly the scenario I would envision.
As I said previously, if he goes the South Carolina it will be because he perceives that getting into the SEC now is better than taking a chance on the ACC's future. But his dream job is in Chapel Hill.
Ask him again, just so the boys in the thread can get back to pie.....I recognised thst it was Jay Batt. I asked him if he was looking for a job. He smiled and said no.
I think that about sums it up.J Batt is interviewing
J Batt is leaving
J Batt is staying
J Batt is talking to PAC
Philo is redshirting
COFH is already a loss
J Batt is leaving
Philo is transferring
J Batt is staying
Philo may play after all
Did I get the last 24 hours right? Are we anxious for tonight anyone?

J Batt has entered the transfer portal and Aaron Philo has stepped away from the football team in order to take over AD duties.J Batt is playing
Yeah. If this is true, it should have been handled very, very quietly. Especially the week before the Georgia game.My issue is not that it was done, but that it was public.
It worse that he's at the bottom of their list USCe is not getting ANY of their top candidates. They will feed off the bottom because that's who they are. If Batt's at or near the bottom, he's a real target. Something tells me he's their #1 or #2 target so I think we're keeping him.South Carolina AD search: Separating fact from fiction
In the wake of rumors circulating about South Carolina's athletic director search, we have some notes to pass along for Gamecock fans.www.on3.com
