Amen, brother.
It grates on my last nerve when some of us express frustration over how the refs missed calls that cost us the game and then our own fans accuse us of whining or making excuses. When something hurts this bad let a person vent and grieve a little bit. But, no, the game had not ended more than an hour before people are blaming Tech, saying we chocked, and ridiculing those of us who lamented the horrible officiating. That frankly sux. When people are hurting let them get over it before you rush in to say buck up. I would not want any of you guys hanging out at funeral to “console” the family. “Well, he had a bad heart, so you couldn’t expect to have him around for ever.”
It also grates for an even bigger reason. One of Tech’s greatest wins in COFH will forever be known as the Jasper Sanks bad fumble call because uga never quit talking about it. Meanwhile my news feed is filled this week with stories about uga’s courageous comeback win, and magnificent home winning streak, and what a powerhouse playoff team they are, because Tech fans can’t even manage a mild protest, and the controversy is over so quickly it’s as if it never happened.
But, man, people who don’t even follow football that closely know the name of Jasper Sanks.
What was the name of that guy again who targeted Haynes King?
