Is this targeting?

I mean several of those calls extended a game that was essentially over. The PI in the end zone was on 4th down. They won’t have time to tie. The non call on targeting extended the game when we would have run the clock out. Did we have many other chances to win, sure…but how many times do you have to win a game to win a game? Thats the thing with the refs. Everything they did was simply to give georgia another chance when they were done…and they were knowingly doing it. College football used to be the most pure sport out there, but the fact at the conference politics and money works now these conferences have their refs tip the scales to their teams intentionally. It’s just bull****, but no one really cares because they all do it. So nothing will change.
Exactly. It was like the officials kept giving extra outs to our opponents in the bottom of the ninth until they could score the winning run. Such contests are of no interest to me, regardless of who is playing. The fact that we readily accept this crap guarantees we will always have to live with it.

It’s hard to shake this truth and I really don’t know if I’ll keep watching CFB. I know that sounds dramatic but it’s like refusing to think the WWE is fake. The players and coaches can win but constant ref favors is an absolute fix and you couldn’t deny it Friday.

I don’t want it to be this way but I’m afraid my days on this board and enjoying Saturdays on the couch are coming to a close. Golf and Tennis are sounding more and more appealing.

Efford hit the ball carrier with the side of his helmet and not the crown which is why that one was overturned. They even said that on the broadcast. Jackson launched with the crown of his helmet.
This what I saw too. It wasn’t a direct hit but kind of a glancing blow.

At my age, more golf, biking on the beach, and watching games on my big screen TV sitting in my recliner are becoming more appealing to me.

It depends on the situation. If it is going to cost a team a spot in the playoffs, if it is in front of 90K fans, if it is your home conference, if the officials are afraid of Kirby Smart, it is not targeting. If it was GT, it would have been targeting.

This 100%!!!

I made a similar post on the post game laying out 4 specific examples where we properly executed likely game winning plays that were taken away from us by the refs. There were also plenty others including the missed hold on their game tying drive that I didn't even mention.

I get so frustrated at the people saying "well we still had a chance to win and couldn't execute". Like I get it if it was just one play like our fumble that we caused near the goal line that we didn't get. But how many times can you have executed game winning plays that are taken away before "we just didn't execute"? Based on the 4th quarter, if we did execute a game winning 2pt in OT they probably would have just taken that away too.

Thank you. It’s frustrating to hear that it’s Tech’s fault that we got stopped over and over again by bad officiating and that the answer was just to “keep coming back one more time and one more time until it finally counted.”

Our players played their hearts out and didn’t deserve this.

You are whining now. Not usually your style.

Plus, it’s 4th quarter. If that player gets tossed he misses the first 3 quarters of the SEC CG as well. They didn’t want to see targeting, so they didn’t look.

So are you whining with this statement of fact that is actually an opinion?
It is an opinion. It is not fact. All targeting calls are also judgment calls making them opinion as well. As I said it is a message board and he is free to express his opinion. His opinion is not a fact. It likely makes many people feel better believing the game was rigged. That is my opinion. I do not believe the game was rigged. Also an opinion. I believe the refs overall were solid in a difficult and very long game. The word believe is an opinion word, not a fact word.

Dodging my question, I see.

Not a choice. Officiating cost us the game. There’s no taking it back now. They ****ed us straight up in the face.
they did not cost us the game.

running a prevent defense late in the 4th and going 1/7 on 2pt tries is what lost us the game.

we've won games THIS SEASON that have had ****ty officials, most notably the Duke game. Refs making bad calls doesn't lose you a game, but how you play and roll with the punch afterwards does.

I’m not happy about the result but I’m gonna get over it at some point soon. Maybe even when I wake up tomorrow.
I feel better about it now but I won't get over it for a long time.

I won't ***** about it in here as much as some of you (and I'm not saying y'all shouldn't, for some this message board is how you get your feelings out) but it will leave a wound deep inside me. A scab on my heart that's right next to the one caused by 28-3.

My way of getting over things is whenever the counter happens. '09 and '13 COFH L's stuck with me but '14 and '16 got me over them. I'll be healed from 28-3 whenever the Falcons decide to win a super bowl (so never, most likely)

I'll be over this one whenever we beat those damned mutts again. Hopefully next year, Dodd's streak must be protected.
