If not here, where? Is this not the proper venue for crapping on the guy?
I just don’t understand the need to make things up like saying he’s hunting moral victories to try and make your point.

It’s entirely possible to be mad or frustrated about this season without exaggerating or discounting good things he’s done.

We all know where you stand, many feel the same way, and none of us are happy, but why make **** up? You really believe Josh is touting this as a moral victory?
When he calls NC State an Elite Eight team - and that's just downright laughable - he is.

Let's face it - in a down year for the ACC, to be mired at the bottom of it, enduring a string of losses, some historic in nature, and most by double digits, simply cries out for a change to be made. And it's not like we were any good last year. Nor is there any sign next year we'll be better without a change in course.
Having Lance Terry back helped. But this team is still lacking. in a number of areas.

Improvement is actually winning this type of game, against a run of the mill NC State team - which has wins over those great powers Elon, FIU, William and Mary, Furman, Austin Peay and Campbell, and, of course, two wins this season over Georgia Tech.. This loss was just another wash, rinse, repeat of what we've been seeing for the last two years.
Winning the ACCT bought Pastner time. But that time is up now. Saturday's game was just another example of how far we are from being truly competitive.

You are really a strong leader when you put $$$ to your words.

Gt is at the bottom due to over a decade of bottom feeding in ( acc ) donations and ticket sales.

Other teams get to hire better coaches and recruit better players because they have more money.

Or, maybe he feels like NC State is really capable of making a run. I do as well. It seems pretty clear that you haven’t been watching very closely this year, but this isn’t a “run of the mill” NC State team.

This is one of their best teams in years. They’ve been one of the best in conference all season, and they’re currently one game out of 1st in conference. Deep backcourt and strong bigs.

Look, there’s nothing that Josh is going to say or do that most of you won’t find an issue with. He’s brought that onto himself. The results are the results, and at the end of the day, that’s what he will be judged on. No need to put words in his mouth.

My trust/hope is that JBatt will make the best decision for the long term health of the hoops program. It’s as simple as that.

Good post.
Agree. Also Josh was calling UNC a Final Four team last season in mid-January when nobody saw the potential of Love/Davis/Manek/Bacot with Leaky as that lockdown defender. We should give him the benefit of the doubt that he can evaluate what it takes to craft a successful NCAAT team. He was on one as a player that won it all and coached others who made deep runs.

NCSU is a flexible team - they can win when their guards are off. When their guards are on, that only improves their chances. It can be a saving grace in that opening round game and give you a second life despite an off night on jumpers.

FWIW his preseason UVA pick is also looking really good right now. I think they can definitely win it all. ACC DPOY, experienced guards, and a contributing bench. And they won’t get burned by some mid-major who can’t miss a shot because they can actually score now.

And not to put too fine a point on it but Josh is not Geof Collins. Not everything Josh says is self serving or to make excuses. He may not be a competent coach for Tech but he’s not a snake oil salesman.

I feel sorry for Pastner, much different feeling than the football guy. Maybe it’s because he’s had a couple good runs- ACCT 2 yrs ago and NIT his first season? Maybe it’s the lack of excuses and not acting the fool?

It’s just not going to work out. Sad, but it’s time to move along.
